Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesOur room location, 145, on the ground, had a terrible outlook and no privacy. Room was tiny and for a room that can sleep 4 people there was not one single towel rail! No fridge! No tea & coffee in room; tiny bathroom with no bench space at all. Very thin walls so could hear everything with the neighbours.
Fantastic location; clean; comfortable beds. Good gym, great games room & bar; nice tea & coffee in the morning; nice milk & cookies in the evening. Extremely friendly and helpful staff and complimentary parking.

AustraliaThe bathroom didn’t have an exhaust fan so it steamed up for hours whenever we showered. The water pressure wasn’t great so didn’t wash my hair but overall was good.
The location was great close to fisherman’s wharf without being too close to the busiest spot. The staff were great and very helpful. We loved the milk and cookie hour and we used the water bottles during our entire holiday after this too! We did ask for a kettle but gave up after asking twice as they said if we ordered it should be in the room. Two lovely girls on the front desk were super helpful (1 was Irish) and when our airport transport fell through they organised a car for us the night before! There was a bit of confusion with the price from hotel vs driver but we got there with all our bags so we didn’t care! We felt safe and knew it was all key access so no one can just come in from off the street. The rooms are small and we had no view except of brick wall but that’s San Fran. The city itself isn’t what it used to be which is sad but overall a great trip.

The beds were comfortable and the roon was nice. There was a problem with our reservation (we got a different room than what we ordered) and the workers gave us a 20$ compensation to spend in their breakfast area. The hotel had bycicles that the guests can rent for free for 4h. There is a games area in the lobby and it is nice to spend there the evening after a long day.

United StatesWe had 2 rooms. One without a view for our kids which was great. No issues, perfect. One with a view and we really wished we had not asked for that. It was very very loud at night. All night long, motorcycles, cars racing, people, street noise was bad. Plus windows made noise from the wind. We should have known when we saw earplugs were there when we arrived. I would seriously consider replacing the windows - newer windows are much more sound blocking and won’t rattle with every breeze. We left a night early, we were not refunded but manager gave us $100 off.
Location and pool were a big plus. It was clean and well staffed

The location is amazing just a few blocks from Fishermans Wharf, the staff was pretty great communicating with us all the time, the room was super clean and nice.

New ZealandPretty much all of it was great, the only little niggle was the noise from the bathroom fan all the time but that’s so minor and we were exhausted at the end of every day anyway that it wasn’t too disruptive
The staff were extremely friendly, it was really close to fisherman’s wharf and surrounding areas, the fitness centre was handy and we had a great wee view of Alcatraz from our room. The filtered water stations were also brilliant and the milk and cookies was a nice touch!

United StatesThe bathroom is small and the bathtub/shower is very slippery. Scary if you’re older. You have to request a coffee maker and refrigerator and no one refills the coffee supplies. The bar is open off and on. Parking is extra and very pricey.
Comfortable king size bed in a very spacious room. Great view of the bay and Alcatraz. Purified water stations on every floor. Nice continental breakfast included in the lobby with other items you can purchase.
