Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe restaurant. Beautifully decorated, wasn’t happy with cuisine selections for dinner. Thankful for appetizers. Breakfast sandwich biscuit wasn’t light and fluffy-heavy and greasy.
Art deco decor, cleanliness, friendly helpful staff. Perfect walking distance location for attractions!

United StatesMy only complaint was that there was a stain on my sheets. Other than that I would book again.
I loved the hotel, the staff was so friendly. The decor is amazing and very modern, everything looks new and clean. The price was a bit high but I don't mind if I can get what I enjoy. We got a chance to visit one of the restaurants for a quick bite of pizza and it was really fresh and good. The rooftop bar had a party at night, we attended after we left the Usher concert and we loved it.

United Statesdidn't care for the valet service but that's more preference. If you need something from your vehicle while you're there even if it's the pack of gum you forgot, they have to go get your vehicle and bring it around so you can get it. Asked for our room to be cleaned while we were out but no one came. I had to go get more towels. There are no vending machines. if you want a soda you have to go to the bar. We just aren't this fancy I suppose. The lights in the room were so dim. if you want to apply makeup bring a lighted mirror. I couldn't see a thing.
The staff was very friendly and courteous. The entire hotel was spotless.

CanadaI didn't realize that the only parking at the hotel was valet parking and it was $45/ day. Our room was right next to the elevator so it was quite loud at night as it was a busy weekend. I wish there were late night options for food.
The hotel is gorgeous and very modern. The amenities were all well taken care of and convenient. All of the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The 2 restaurants at the hotel, Cibo and Detroit Taco, were also really good and provided a range of food and drink offerings.

United StatesSuper friendly and helpful staff! I was able to switch rooms to a higher floor with view and they did a nice job handling a busy Memorial Day weekend this year. The hotel overall certainly exceeded my expectations. I have stayed at several different Hotels in downtown Detroit and this Cambria was likely my favorite out of all of them.

United StatesWe requested a joined room in advance, but unfortunately wasn’t provided with one. The hotel staff did place both rooms on the same floor, which was helpful.
The hotel itself was beautiful with plenty to do.

United StatesConfusing access to the rooftop bar. There's a door through the lobby bar to the rooftop, but that entrance was never open. I think it can be accessed from a separate 1st floor elevator but it didn't make sense that we couldn't get to it from the lobby (3rd floor). This is minor but it is kind of annoying to take an elevator to the lobby and then another elevator to the room. The lobby is cool so it could be worse, just adds time. Parking information could be more clear on the website. We are local and used a ride share to get here, since we weren't sure how much parking was going to run during the stay.
Very cool building, decor and overall vibe. It's in the old WWJ news radio building, and is well appointed inside. They have some pictures from when the radio station operated back in the day in a cool display near the lobby. Lobby has a sort of radio theme and is a cool place to hang out. The place smelled great. Staff was super friendly from the moment you walk in the door. Literally all staff we interacted with were just so nice. The basement has a cool bar and recreation area with golf simulators, duckpin bowling and some table games such as ping pong. A very cool hidden space with kind of an arcade vibe. This would be a good place to go if you have kids, it's big with a bunch of stuff to do. There's also an enclosed courtyard with patio chairs and giant Jenga sets. It's up to road from the people mover, so if you're looking to go into downtown hit up the Fort/Cass station. There is a bike rental stand right there and there are often e-scooters from the various apps outside. We walked to Corktown in about 20 minutes.
