Loved that it was off the beaten path, yet close to everything. Room was a good size, great view, quiet. Brie was welcoming, friendly, helpful, cheerful. The complimentary glass of wine and anniversary chocolates were unexpected and greatly appreciated.

Nothing! This place was amazing!!!

Black Bear is wonderful. The property is much larger than it appears online and the landscape is serene and peaceful. This property is within a 30 minute walking distance from casinos. However, if you don’t want to drive or go near the busy part of Tahoe, there are restaurants and a coffee house within a 5 minute walk from the lodge. We had an amazing stay and can’t wait to go back.

The only change I would make would be some different pillows as I didn’t find them comfortable but recognise that is very much personal preference!

Great staff, great location and the rooms, gardens and hotel areas are really nice. A great place to relax and enjoy Tahoe. Close enough to easily get to restaurants but far enough out to give peace and quiet. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and thoughtful.

Beautiful place located among serene environment of threes and nature. We loved the design of our cottage and also appreciated friendly staff who gave us many recommendations what to do in our free time. Super comfortable bed. Great place to stay!

We traveled in June 2024 (from Texas) and stayed at The Black Bear Lodge - King size bedroom. The staff were amazing from the welcome to the departure. The room/amenities were nice and clean, the view from our balcony was beautiful and everything was in walking or bike-riding distance to the lake and surrounding eateries/shops. Highly recommend booking Black Bear Lodge - grateful for an excellent vacation and escape from the Texas heat.

Nobody is cleaning your studio if you’re booking a separate house. That’s was the only minus. Everything else was great

Honestly nothing.

The bed and bedding were possibly the most comfortable I have ever experienced in any hotel. The room was an excellent size with a small patio outside. There was a small kitchenette area that we didn’t use but would be very handy if you were going to be there for longer. It’s about 10 minutes walk down to the main town but out the way enough that you’re not bothered by noise. Would definitely stay here again.

The wifi was pretty slow, could’ve been better!

The location was super close to downtown/other shops/restaurants/the lake! The lodge and the room itself were beautiful and super clean. The bathroom was spacious and the soap products were nice. I don’t know what sheets they use but they’re super super soft. We arrived a bit after the check in time but they were very accommodating and were able to let us check in ourselves. Lastly there was free parking which was amazing!

Everything was good, not much to complain about. Maybe it would be nice to get a breakfast offered in Hotel, but Red Hut is close and had a very tradiditional american breakfast :-). Elevator or someone who would carry, just to bring the luggage in the upper area would help.

Checkin was quick, very friendly and perfect. The Hotel is located in the woods. It has a very nice lodge and woody design. Outsstanding design. Have a look at the Hotel website.... We loved it. The rooms are cosy nice and clean. Beds are comfortable we had a restful sleep. Room had a little fire place which was lovely and created a warm. I would definetly book it next time again when going to south lake tahoe. Checkout was as well very quick + good, but we didn't loved it becasuse we had to leave :-)

My stay was perfect. The room was very clean and perfectly equipped with a tv, microwave, a little fireplace, even an aroma diffuser! The staff is super friendly and the location is just gorgeous. 10/10 would come back. Lots of parking spots. Hot tub available
