Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesNot enough access to plugs to charge things. My TV was missing its cable cord so had to call desk for a repair. The maids should test the TV as part of room prep. You had tons of check outs on a Monday, a tour bus of people left in the morning and I had asked for an extra hour to check out and was turned down. There was lots of time to clean rooms before you got to mine.
Staff was nice and helpful, best location to the Shedd and Museums.

United StatesThe amenities list valet parking, but this is limited. We had to park a few blocks away. It would be nice to know ahead of time. Unloading area by hotel on the street is also limited. There were some places where the carpet was tattered in the hallway and the towel rack in our room was taped together. Walls are also thin so every door slam is easily heard and anyone talking in the room next door will be noticeable.
The location was excellent. Close enough walk to soldier field for a concert. Plenty of food options and transportation options in walking distance too. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious and updated nicely. Great air conditioner that was almost too cold.

New ZealandAir con was so so noisy and blew cold air straight onto me and the bed all night. Room was not quiet due to traffic noise and general city noises at night - expected better insulation on the windows to prevent this. We were on 4th floor so not at street level. Ice machine on level 4 not working, had to go to level 6. No breakfast or parking on offer.
Location of hotel is great, central city, near Grant Park, museums, shops etc. Very handy. Bakery next door, which we didn't use but seemed to have a good selection of food. Hotel is older but didn't feel run down, just old.
