Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThat the parking you had to pay for the whole time you were there. The hotel parking was not free! It was $75 and you could not park it yourself! I wish the hotel looked like it did when it first opened In the 1920’s that would have been great! Instead it was filled with cheap 80’s decor! That was disappointing.
I like the location to the beach and the paramount! It was awesome.

United StatesI know it’s the holiday weekend, but I overpaid making reservations thru Booking.com ($800)!! expensive for 1 room, 2ppl (over 60) for 1 nite!. $75 for parking!!! Worn, peeling desk chair & worn curtains, mini frig on floor (should of been on a table) In the future will make reservations directly to hotel!
Great location, friendly staff, the very, very tall AA gentleman (security vest) & Dan at the front desk was very friendly & professional

United StatesWe didn’t see enough of the property to dislike anything. The room was definitely overpriced though. We’re going to Boca Raton in September at a beautiful Resort and it’s less expensive than we paid at the Berkeley
The property was nice. We didn’t get to see the restaurants or the grounds. The room was ok and the lobby was nice. We asked for a room close to the elevators because my husband has trouble walking due to a stroke. I appreciate that we were accommodated.

I liked the location. There was a classic car show around the square on Thursday. We could watch alot of it from our room.

United States$75/day to park in their parking lot. Outrageous. There were quite a few things that were not functioning in our room. Bathroom exhaust fan, heat lamps did not work, VERY slow draining of bathroom sink.
Staff is super friendly and accommodating, directly across the street from the beach (3 minute walk), very clean, grounds are beautiful, views amazing. Rooms are spacious and beds are super comfortable. Loved the pool and pool bar. Ha. Without asking we were upgraded from partial ocean view to full ocean view room. Lovely!

United StatesI did not like the poolside service. Mike was fantastic, he made a Sangria when it wasn't on the menu and it was delicious. But Brendan did not provide adequate service. We had no utensils and napkins, no ketchup, mustard when the food came, I had to go get it myself. Then I found out the next next day that it was happy hour when we were there and we did NOT get the half price specials. Brendan should have known that. There are signs all over the hotel and he should be kind enough to promote that. I had to go back to the bar to get it the reimbursement and Mike said the manager would credit my credit card back, but I have yet to see in on the credit card. When Brendan brought our check back, he stood over us, waiting for us to sign. I have never seen that in my life. A server drops off the check and customers take their time and leave the signed check on the table. The food was also very mediocre for such a high price hotel. Salad wilted, no cole slaw on the plate (as advertised) and when he brought it out, was also brown and wilted. Food did not taste fresh. Music needs to be contemporary and modern. Music playing is so old, it feels like a time warp. The pool table is fantastic, but we were thrown out and said we couldn't play it. Don't advertise that if it can't be used. I would have liked a coffee maker in the room, like all other hotels. Breakfast included would be great, even if we have to pay a bit more. The chess set was incomplete and when we wanted to play.
I loved the actual look and feel of the hotel. The front desk staff was amazing, supportive, accommodating and friendly. When the water from the tea wasn't hot enough, she got me some hot water. I can't remember her name, but all the front desk women were wonderful and were very knowledgeable and helpful. I love the size of the rooms, bathrooms etc. The accommodations are excellent! The hotel smells great. Love the ping pong table! I loved the little museum! We the local info of the area.
