Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesPower was off from large storm . Whole town was out. Nothing the Inn could do about that.. not a complaint. We just didn’t get to fully enjoy the fire pits and balcony due to the weather. That is a positive amenity others will enjoy.
Shelley was awesome. Friendly, helpful and the breakfast was amazing .

United StatesProperty was quiet
The Main house was gorgeous and it where we had breakfast which was perfect. Our room was in the Dempsey house and although the main floor/parlor was simple our room upstairs was wonderful, complete with a balcony. Weather was dreary, wet and cold so we didn’t take advantage of balcony. Shelly, the Inn keeper was wonderful and explained everything to us and made our breakfast. The place was immaculate. We know we will choose the BennConger Inn on our next trip upstate again.

IsraelThe only unconvinced thing that happened to us was power outages because of a storm. So most of the night we didn’t had electricity and it was very hot, the windows can’t be open so we suffered from the heat. But otherwise everything was very very good.
Very special antique house with all kind of antique features: the furniture, art, dining plats and silverware…. The house kippers were very very nice, welcoming, taking care of us, very very tasty and rich breakfast. Nice big green yard and gardens.

United StatesWe enjoyed a lovely one night stay at this beautifully restored historic inn. Our suite was large, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Shelly was a delight to talk to, and provided very personalized service. The cook to order breakfast was very good, especially Shelly’s homemade cinnamon rolls. It was very interesting to learn the history of the family connection to the inn, and what a family project it is. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Benn Conger Inn, and hope to return on a future trip!

United StatesNothing.
The inn was set back off the road with a lovely well tended lawn and it looked so majestic and inviting. Our room, the Terrance Graves was in the Dempsey House next door. We were on the second floor, although a wee bit small, met all our needs and the balcony was a bonus. Our antique brass bed that had a step stool and was oh so comfortable. Breakfast was prepared by Shelley and all the pastries and scones were baked by her. We had a veggie omelettes which were the best we had ever eaten. You have a choice of three dining areas with a view of nature from the main house. Shelley, who also serves as the Innkeeper made our stay comfortable and delightful! Thank you🌷

United StatesMy only comment would be that we used the bathtub and lots of brown stuff (dirt/dust) came out of the jets and we didn't notice it until after the bath (due to the bubbles) so that was kind of gross...I guess because they aren't used much?
Our host was amazing - the food was delicious!

United StatesThat I couldn't stay longer!
We enjoyed our mother, daughter, and granddaughter's weekend so much! Our stay at the Ben Conger Inn, was the icing on the cake for a relaxing weekend of shopping. The GM, Drew, emailed prior to, and reached out by phone out on our check in date to see if we had any request or what they could do to make our stay better. That was above and beyond anything I expected. Mrs. Shelley, the Inn keeper was such a pleasant host. She made sure we had all the information we needed for a perfect stay. The morning breakfast was spot on. You start with a lovely presentation of Continental breakfast only to be served a made to order.hot breakfast. Again, above and beyond. I highly recommend this lovely Inn!

Everything!! Shelly and Drew were wonderful host. The inn is beautiful and the breakfast is amazing! Shelly really made us feel at home. Every morning she had the breakfast sun room filled with delicious coffee, juices, teas and hot chocolate. She had wonderful bread, muffins, fresh fruit and more. Then she prepared a cooked meal of our choice. We had pancakes, French toast and omelettes. Our room was perfect. Drew upgraded us to a larger room. It was lovely overlooking the back lawn. It had a beautiful gas fireplace and Shelly had coffee and tea available as well.

SpainHistoric and beautiful option outside Ithaca. Would definitely stay here again given the surroundings but specially the charm of the room and the house itself. That breakfast (OMG the homemade pumpkin pancakes) with those garden views remain as one of the highlights of our trip. In additon, we booked last minute and they were super helpful and arrival was easy and smooth.
