Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesSeaweed beds not far offshore. Just feels weird under the feet but not a deterrent. Wear water shoes if you have them.
Excellent location in a beachfront building. Comfortable beds in the bedrooms. Kitchen adequately staffed. All the essentials for the kitchen and lots of bathroom and beach items available for use too. I loved that the beach is on a calm bay so you won’t get knocked down by large waves. Along a great wide walking and biking pathway. Communication is excellent with the owner.

United StatesA bit small and lived in, not a bad thing, just to be aware of (no desk or table to work from home on, but there is a kitchen bar; tight for four of us to fit in the living room and watch TV or something... but just walk to the beach instead!)

United StatesMy only complaint is just the parking lot. We drove a RAM 1500 and we had to nestle up next to the bushes on the side and climb out the passenger side. Backing out was a close call with how narrow the entry/exit it. I'm sure if we drove our SUV it wouldn't have been an issue. I just wanted to make sure the car parked in spot 2 had enough room to get in their vehicle.
This place was perfect for us. Being able to wake up and walk 50 feet to the beach was great. The kids had so much fun digging in the sand and swimming in the ocean. Having some boogie boards and sand toys available at the property was a great bonus. There were bikes too but we just didn't have enough time. The showers were super. We didn't use the kitchen other than the microwave but everything looked good. Communication with the hosts was very easy and they provided everything we needed and more. We would definitely stay again!

United StatesSeveral things were broken like front door lock. We literally had to go through neighbors' home to back and climb through the window to get in. We had several bags of groceries and a kid with a full diaper when we were locked out. So, if that wasn't bad enough. That was on Sat. It took time from our day. Then, on Monday afternoon, we had to cut our day short and get back to greet locksmith who, too, took 4 hours of prime beach time and arrived 2 hours later than we were told to be there. So a total of 8 hours of our vacation was taken from us. The apartment was not locked all day Sunday, so we had to stay close. Then, the owner accused us of vomiting in the toilet and leaving the mess that her house kept charged her for. She wanted us to pay extra for that! That was a lie, and I have a video to show that was a lie. Then the fan in the bedroom was broken it was super hot she tried to have us stay in another day to get that fixed. Also, the closet in the primary bedroom was stuffed full of owners' clothes, so it could not be used, and the door was broken and hanging there looking ugly . I believe I should be compensated for at least 1 full day or a free weekend for all the trouble.
