Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Desk staff at check in was great. The elevators don't work well, the rooms are really outdated. No fridge or microwave. Small outdated bathroom. Beds are ok. Parking is only $10 when you stay in the hotel.

United StatesHad issue at front desk checking in and out. Clerk Anita was very rude. Asked for early check in, per express check in machine the fee for early check in was $10 which had no issue. Went to front desk to check in. Anita advised the fee was $15. I said the machine said it was $10. In a rude manner she replied, “that was wrong”. Had no issue paying the $15 since we were looking forward to getting to the room. We got to room to find electrical outlets were very limited. Doesn’t seem they have updated the room for electronic devices at the section of the hotel we booked. I have a sleep apnea machine and the were no available outlets next to the bed. I called the front desk and was advised someone would come up with an extestion cord. I thought that was old fashion but accepted that resolution. Before maintenance came to the room I was able to figure out a resolution. To avoid an unnecessary trip for the maintenance man I called the front desk back. I advised I called for someone who was going to bring an extension cord. Before I can say I didn’t need them anymore the person who answered said “it can 45 minutes. Again the persons tone was rude. Finally checking out I had a question about the bill. I saw the person who helped me during check in was there. I was hoping I wouldn’t be asked to her but she was available before the other clerk was. I asked her for an explanation of the bill I received at checkout. It looked as I was being charged 2x’s for my one night stay. I advised I booked through BOOKING.COM and was already billed. She said that was a deposit. I was very confused. She circled the amount on bill that was $256. I was still confused because BOOKING already charged me $230 when I booked in March. A 156 dollar auto was placed on my bank account . Asked if that was be placed back since I already paid. Her reply was NO, why would you get that back? She then tried to explain “if you buy a house”.

United StatesIt took 4 visits (630pm-945pm) to the front desk to get towels. 2 super nice ladies and 1 lady who got super mad that I asked for towels again. She made up a story about I gave the wrong room number the 1st 3 times I came to the desk, I asked her to get the paper that had my info on it, but she didn't. Room stays warm. The phone on the wall next to the toilet is weird.
The room was big. The bed was nice. Middle of the boardwalk. The refrigerator worked great.

United StatesHousekeeping did not clean my room, not enough pillows, front desk staff nor super friendly. I called front desk from the room…never answered the phone. I had to go back downstairs to request additional towels and washcloths. After waiting 1.5hrs I had to call using my cell phone and finally got patched right through!
