Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I loved the location, very close to the beach and so many restaurants, I also really like the cleanliness and that they cleaned the room every day. The views are also wonderful

MexicoAlthough it was slow season, it felt crowded at the pool bar. The piña colada was impossible to drink, it was poorly made with some cheap alcohol. Some activities like lei making were not even possible to book. The check in process was slow and it took 1.5hrs past my check in time to gave me my room cause it wasn’t ready. (No complementaries we’re offered) There was no one to walk me through my check out process & how and when I was gonna be refunded, for the $500 deposit they ask at check in; I quickly approach one of the counter ladies just to ask one question and I got yelled out by one guest and even the counter lady, I ended up asking the bell boys and the valet parking personnel. They don’t help you taking your bags to your room. You are given a schedule for housekeeping but they missed one day; out of the 8 nights of my stay housekeeping was done twice. I truly wished booking was updated with parking prices & information about the hotel.
It’s really close to the beach, it had a few amenities like the pool bar, which has live music everyday; restaurants & shops. They offer yoga/fitness classes, beach towels. It was my birthday so they sent out cookies & juice! The valet parking personnel was super nice!

SwitzerlandWe would have liked this more if we didn't before reside in a 4 star hotel that was better in many respects (more quiet, nicer rooms, etc etc) than this (Halepuna Waikiki). - We were on the third floor and the windows do not keep noise out. You can hear most things from the street (and it's busy until late at this spot). - The pool is fairly small and overcrowded. Don't expect that you can swim in it - it feels to be made for Instagram and lounging more than swimming.
- Across the street from the beach - Water bottles in the room - They gave our party of three two adjacent rooms that we could open to each other - Parking garage very easy to find. Lots of space in the entrance area for unloading the car.
