Enjoyed being in this hotel. All the furniture made of old boat wood, only glass bottles, no plastic and very eco-style attitude - it is nice. Food as well - all was home made: jams and all the pastry for breakfasts. Extremely tasty mayonnaise with French fries - took a recipe from the Chef. Nice pool and good beach to swim while high tide only.

one of the hotels I would book again anytime, the facility was very well maintained and clean, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the food in the restaurant was excellent, super nice stuff. Right on the beach with a pool etc. It couldn't have been better. I really enjoyed my time here.it is on the end of the long beach , the restaurant is overviewing the beach and as a own little bay and from there you can walk the whole long kiwegwa beach too.

I recently stayed at Z-Lodge, and it was a fantastic experience. The lodge is right on the beach, with all rooms and the restaurant super close to the Indian Ocean. From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly at the reception with refreshing coconut water and given a quick, easy-going orientation. It was a great start. Our room was wonderful—spacious, bright, and filled with charming, authentic furniture made from aged wood. The standout feature for us was the lounge area in the restaurant. They’ve creatively used old boats as seats, giving us a perfect view of the ocean 24/7 with the relaxing sound of the waves in the background. The restaurant menu is well thought out, with something for everyone, including vegan options. A huge shoutout to the chefs—the food was amazing and looked fantastic. The only small issue was the portion sizes—they were enormous, and we often couldn't finish our meals. But the restaurant staff were always smiling and ready to help with anything we needed. Breakfasts were particularly special, especially with the beautiful sunrise. The selection was delicious, with plenty of fruits, drinks, and pastries that looked so tempting, though I was on a diet! For families, there’s a great area with board games, Lego, drawing supplies, and other toys, which kept the kids entertained for hours. It’s a perfect spot for those traveling with children. We also went on some excursions, and the Kiwengwa Reef tour was a highlight. It was an incredible experience and definitely worth it. Overall, our stay at Z-Lodge was cozy and full of positive vibes. I highly recommend it!

The hotel was right on the water with a beautiful view of the ocean and easy access to the beach for walking. Our room was very large, comfortable and clean. The restaurant was also very good with a great breakfast.

The room I was staying in had a foul smell(I believe due to the shower drain). Not a complaint, just a heads up- the mattresses are hard.

The location is perfect for a chilled holiday! The facilities they have ensure that, if you’d like to just stay and relax there, you are able to(there’s two swimming pools, direct access to the beach, bar, restaurant…). I have never felt this welcomed before by staff, they really make you feel welcome and help with any problem/queries you might have. They also organise tours from the property. Food in the restaurant is great.

Exceptiona sunrises and view. It is a beautiful and peaceful place in Zanzibar, far from noise and interruptions. Food was so great - it is easy to compare with high class restaurants in US. The room was big enough, clean and we had everything needed. Staff was kind and attentive. Only positive memories.

We had a large, clean room with an ocean view. The restaurant and the food met our expectations and even exceeded them in some areas, especially the quality of the cocktails made with delicious natural fruits and juices. Perfect breakfasts, best avocados ever. The beautiful ocean view, with the ocean just a few steps away from all the rooms, made it perfect. This is a small and very cozy spot for those who want seclusion and complete relaxation.

The Location was just perfect, less than a 20 sec walking to the beach and the staff is so so friendly and accommodating! The breakfast is also super delicious, and if you need extra food the prices are very good as well. Our room was brand new with all fresh furniture and decorations. Beautiful moon. Tasty cocktails. Happy with my choice.

Beach isn't appropriated for swimming and relaxing. At the middle of the day the beach is quite dirty. Native inhabitants are too noisy and tend to disturb all the time. The best place to relax is in the hotel, because for natives it's prohibited to enter the hotel's territory.

BREAKFASTS buffet and menu had a big choice of fresh fruits and home-made pastry or freshly made options of eggs and vegetarian food. Cocktails were amazing - special thanks to Sammy from the bar. Room was huge and decorated with all natural materials. We did't sea any plastic in the hotel. It is a sunrise side of the island, and we had a sun rising from the ocean and a beautiful moon on the same side- very beautiful. Tropical weather+tropical garden were in harmony with each other. Did't feel like Africa - not too hot, but ocean was really warm, a lot of plants and refreshing breeze from the ocean. And the last one - fresh and delicious seafood and fish right from the ocean - we have seen the deliveries from Fishermen.

Thank you Z-Lodge Hotel for a special vibe and excursion experiences in Zanzibar - it was unforgettable and very emotional stay. Lack of ocean during tides did disturb me before coming, but 2-3 hours of high tide time was enough to swim in the ocean every day. Delicious dishes and cocktails at the restaurant was very important part of vocation. Shortly- Happy with my choice.
