The staff were indifferent, and not as friendly or helpful as previous reviews suggested. Quoting too high prices for food and laundry. I told the owner who was unaware and he kindly mentioned he will sort it. You don't come to a hostel for high prices! We were the only guests so not social. We didn't mind but some solo travellers can be aware.

Clean, comfortable, full mosquito nets, good WiFi. Peter is a great owner. I can recommend this place.

It’s not a social hostel at all but I think just because it’s new. We were the only people here for basically the whole time a part from a few people here and there for a night or 2. It was perfect for us as we came with friends but if you are solo and wanting to meet people it would be difficult!

Osotwa is a clean, nice & chill hostel. We stayed here for a month and it was perfect for me and my 2 friends to stay at as it was affordable & close to our volunteer placements and town! The staff are lovely and I would definitely stay here again.

The hostel is spacious, clean and the staff are very friendly. The hostel is quite centrally located not far from the main street with all the stores, bars and restaurants. The bed was large and very comfortable.

The location is not very central, but the qualities outweigh the small details that could improve: - the shower is a little difficult to regulate the temperature - the curtain could cover the sun a little better - the yard is so big and beautiful, it could be used more

    - Judy and the team were wonderful. always smiling and helpful, helping us with restaurant recommendations, information, preparing a good breakfast - breakfast was delicious and simple - the bed was good, big and with good bedding - has a nice balcony

Hot shower was bit weak. And also it's located in quite local area. But it didn't really bothered me because there were pick ups and drop offs

Very clean. The host was super nice. Even though I had to leave very early in the morning I wS able to have breakfast Strongly recommended

The shower is a wet shower and when you use it all the bathroom gets wet. It is also a little bit difficult to regulate the temperature you want.

They were very friendly and adaptative to our needs. The first night we asked if they could prepare dinner for us and Judi cooked us a delicious meal. Also Malaika walked us to an ATM where we could withdraw money. We were going to do the Kilimanjaro so we asked them if they could keep our luggage until we came back. So in general were really helpful and gave us all we needed.

One bed did not have a mosquito net.

We were a group of 4 students traveling through Arusha before starting safari. This was a beautiful clean property. We were welcomed by the lovely hosts. The beds were very comfortable and 3 out of the 4 bunks had mosquito nets. The bathrooms were lovely - clean with great water pressure and warm water! Breakfast was served at the time of our choosing and was very tasty! The hosts were very kind and helpful throughout our stay.

Judith, Angel and Peter were the best, they made me feel at home and helped me with everything! I could even join dinner with the staff, which was really nice as a female solo traveler after a very long traveling day there. In the morning Peter was so kind to drive me to my public transportation, and wait together with me and arrange the tickets for it! The whole place isn’t too big, but feels spacious, and cozy at the same time. I had a private room with a soft bed provided with a mosquito net and some big closets. Both the dinner and breakfast were amazing and more than enough for me! I would recommend it too anyone, especially people traveling solo, even though when I was there I was the only guest there because of low season :)

The stay has been the perfect fit for me and my friend! The rooms and accommodations were wonderful and the staff was very friendly! Nice breakfast in the morning too. You even get a key the front gate so you can go and come as you please without having to make any arrangements. The location is nice - not too far away from clock tower Also it’s located near a lot of small local restaurants where you can eat some nice food 😄

It would have been easier to find if there was a sign. We couldn’t find it first but we got help from the receptionist of the neighboring hotel.

The staff was really friendly, they let us in although it was already late and we booked it very spontaneously. The welcome was warm and nice and we had a lot of space for ourselves. The included breakfast was delicious and the wifi worked well.

The property was slightly difficult to find, so it might be useful to have a sign for directions nearby outside the house.

Osotwa Maasai hostel exceeded my expectations in every way. Firstly, the hosts were so lovely and welcoming, they really made me feel at home. The property was safe and secure, with a locked gate and separate keys for each room where the guests can stay. Inside the house was sparkling clean and decorated with beautiful local art and Maasai ornaments. There was good WiFi and clean water, with a heater if you wanted to take a shower. My room was amazing value for money, with a spacious bed, mosquito net, wardrobe and table for the same price as a shared dorm elsewhere. Breakfast was provided in the morning and I was catered for even with dietary requirements! There is no guest kitchen, but the hosts are happy to assist you with any cooking or boiling water. I would love to see more guests staying at this hostel to support a lovely local family and enjoy a great value experience in Arusha.

    Nothing in particular

The fact that the location is very quiet even if not too close to downtown. I was looking for a quiet place where to sleep well at night, this place is perfect. The owner Peter has been alway available to help, he also helped with the booking of the safari.

the position may not be the most central, but this is easily solved with a bodaboda (moto-taxi).

the beds are heavenly comfortable, the whole hostel feels very homey and welcoming and is very clean. The staff is the absolute best: they invited me to go have dinner with them (which was perfect as I travelled alone) and helped me out a lot with some issues I had with my transfer to nairobi.

Keep in mind that the place is in Sakina, about a 25min walk away from the center of Arusha but you can easily find a Boda to take you.

Brand new very clean and comfy home away from home. Spacious, well equipped with great rooms, a nice living room to hang out and a big kitchen with everything you need to prepare your meals if you like to. Delicious breakfast. Good internet and warm showers (if there is no power cut) Save, secure and quiet. Supermarket, bar and restaurants just around the corner. Host Peter is always there to help with anything and is taking very good care of his guests. Used this stay as a home base during my safaris and hiking tours.

the location depending on what you are looking for can be positive or negative … it is 45 minutes walk to the town so if you are going there very often , it is a bit far. but I liked the area and it is also closer to a sunset viewpoint

everything perfect, very clean, great facilities, Peter the owner is very helpful and friendly , the kitchen was very good, good value for money , delicious breakfast , quiet and peaceful , hot shower and good wifi if there is electricity (load shedding is at the moment happening all over Tanzania and not just in this place). I had a great stay and highly recommend this place

It is a new and nice hostel to stay at, with everything you need. Beds (with klamboe) are comfortable and the bathroom is good. The host is a very nice guy and he will help you with everything. I felt really welcome and had the best time. It is next to the main road so you can get a ride very easily to any place you want. You can reach the cultural heritage centre and the big market by foot. There is a lot to see and to do around here.
