Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

TanzaniaImprovement in the bathroom would be good.
The owner Daudi is very kind and supporting. He is well known how to make the clients comfortable. The staffs are so kind, and the breakfast was above my expectation. As I was with my family I can reccoment this place to go with families, because they have plenty of space for the kids to play and the compund is secure and safe.

GermanyThe shower splashes all over
Very nice place with extremly kind staff, who helped us with everything. The room looks exactly like the pictures, there is a hot shower and Moskito nets. Fresh fruit, Crepe, Toast and Eggs (Omelett, boiled, fried), coffee and homemade juice for breakfast. We had to leave very early but they arranged it for us anyways. The place is a little outside town, but you can catch a Dalladalla to the center (500 TZS), the "bus stop" is directly at the big street and it will take you about 15 minutes.

SwitzerlandThis hotel was reopened and is not at the same location and not the same place as in the Google reviews, be aware of that. 15 min by car from Moshi Town. Room was a bit dark
Owner was very proactive, good businessman, has a lot of offers for people wanting to book any kind of trip, one day or multi day trips. The hotel was very clean, these people know how to run a hotel. Even small water boiler and tee cups. Very friendly staff, good value for money

IrelandThe photos that we viewed on booking this property were absolutely nothing like the property we arrived at. The room was dark and dirty. En-suite was disgusting and the mosquito nets had large holes in them. There was a lizard on the wall and a large spider in the corner above one of the beds. The property looked dilapidated. I can’t reconcile the reviews we read about this property with our experience. We stayed less than an hour and booked another hotel. Before we left the young man who had met us at reception handed me a phone. It was the owner (I believe) who challenged us as to why we were leaving. This spooked us quite a bit so we made up a story and got out of there as quickly as we could. If we’d been offered this room for free we wouldn’t have taken it even as a last resort.
Absolutely nothing.

KenyaThe beds were small, hard, with very hard pillows. The shower had no pressure at all (see picture). The bathroom is not en-suite, as the door leading to the bedroom in front and to the bathroom on the right can not be locked. Worst of all is that after I had settled in and taken a "shower", someone came to ask me if they could put in some stranger in the same room on the extra bed, which I obviously refused. Next, the manager came in around 9pm telling me that there had been an issue with booking.com and that reservation had been cancelled. And he dares telling me this despite me having texted him a couple of hours earlier stating that I would be checking in late. I refused to move out, and I never heard any word from the manager thereafter.
The waiter for breakfast was very much willing to help and prepare the breakfast at 5AM as requested.

My wife and I spent just one night at The Secret Garden hotel but we were absolutely impressed by the personal approach and warm welcome delivered to us by the host. He was extremely kind, helped us with sorting out our 4 days safaris, through their Sister company, Nomad Explorer Tours as well pointed us to a great place nearby where we had lunch and went the extra mile so that we feel great. The Secret Garden hotel itself was extremely stylish and cozy, Delicious Dinner and Breakfast - amazing value for money. Thanks Daudi and his team, we will come back again soon
