Great location to base yourself if you're heading up the Gorge independently (we were on bike). Big comfortable rooms, water dispensers, free packet noodles so you always have an option if you don't feel like going out, quiet spot amongst the ride paddies

We had a motorbike and it was easy to get to restaurants and convenience stores. It might not be as easy if you are on foot, especially at night.

The staff were lovely and helpful, especially Joy. There were snacks, coffee and laundry available as well as as much water as you want. Great location close to the gorge and only a short walk or cycle to Xincheng ships and restaurants.

Hard to find food around even at 6pm. Restaurants showed on google map are either no longer doing business, or the restaurants closed early any time they like.

It felt odd that we had to take off shoes before entering the hotel reception area, also a strange message in the room asking us to keep the floor towel separate from the other towels. We understand that it is for hygiene reasons but it comes across as OCD.

It was a short walk to the train station. Everything we needed was provided and the staff were very nice. Decor was interesting and colorful. Lovely little hotel cat! We stayed here the night of the Hualien earthquake and despite this the staff carried on with a smile. We were only here as trains were cancelled.

The location is about 10 minutes walk from train station. There is no restaurant nearby. If you don’t have car you need to walk more than 10 minutes to find restaurants (almost all of them street food). Breakfast not provided but you can have free instant noodles. Closest breakfast place is 12-15 mins away. After we finished breakfast and walked back to hotel, we found out you can order by phone and the shop will deliver for free. It would be nice if the lady who checked us in told us about this. There is noise from pass by trucks occasionally.

Hotel is situated in a beautiful setting surrounded by mountains, but location is a food desert. Must walk 25-30 minutes to reach restaurants. Room had minimal amenities e.g. have to go to lobby to get cups and to the end of the room to get towels. Staff left our room unlocked after doing their work. The shower floor tiles are very slick and slippery. I was afraid I would fall.

Room seemed stuffy when arrived, needed to air it for few hours. Bed is too soft. The place is far from restaurants and stores but close to the train station.

They provide bicycles which is good because the place is kind of remote. With the bicycle, restaurants and convenience stores are reachable though.
