Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TaiwanHotel glass is weak against sound insulation. I can hear the sound around the ambulance or the road. The sound of water falling in other rooms is also loud. There is a smell of cigarettes. When the typhoon comes, the windows are filled with water.
Nice location. Lots of Japanese guests. Close to the subway and department store, Fest Food. Both the washing machine and the water purifier were good. Breakfast was pretty cold in the rain. Coffee and drinks on the first floor, sometimes even snacks.

Hong KongIt’s a bit far away from metro stations. It talks about 15 mins walk to the nearest one. Some nightclubs seem located nearby. There’s no room for hanging clothes at the bathroom. It’s a weird design that you need to change clothes in a public area within your room after bath.
Breakfast was included and offered from 7am to 10am. The hotel is located in an area full of restaurants, and closed to a departmental stores for shopping/ buying souvenirs. At night, guests can grab free fruits and night snacks (such as puddings and jelly). The hotel offers self-served laundry services.

PolandThe bathroom is kind of open, with frosted glass doors. It doesn't feel private at all, even a bit cramped, especially when travelling with someone not being couple with.
The staff is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. During my stay there are fruits, drinks and ice creams available free of charge most the day, which I really liked. There is also a bus station nearby (3-4 minutes by foot) and MRT red line more far but still within walking distance (10 minutes). The breakfast is decent, I've been staying for 8 nights and yet the selection was okay with small changes every day

United KingdomThe bed and pillows were very uncomfortable which made it difficult to sleep. I think the pictures on booking.com make the hotel look fancier than what it is. It is quite simple and basic. It is ok for the price but the pics were a bit misleading.
It was very cheap and central. Within maximum 15 mins you can go to different metro stations which is very helpful since Taipei doesn’t really have a centre but different areas. The breakfast was simple but nice

I enjoyed the ease of getting there. Their staff are kind and helpful. I felt very safe staying there and really enjoyed my time. The room comes with coffee, tea, stirrer, mugs, kettle and bottled water. You have access to cutlery in the kitchen. They have a good selecrion of breakfast. The staff will also let you know if something is happening in the area.

United StatesThe sink is next to the bed. The water is easily spelled into the bed. And there’s no drawer to put my clothes.
It’s convenient. There are lots of stores in the surrounding area. Love their breakfast and the 24 hours coffee/juice machine

CanadaGiven proximity to downtown core, can be loud at night. Limited sweet breakfast options. Luggage storage is in common space — use with caution.
Good location near Taipei Main Station. Clean and comfortable. Attentive caretaking staff. Traditional savoury breakfast. Complimentary luggage storage available before/after check-in.

AustraliaThe way the bathroom was designed, the whole glass wall is not blurred out it is just at least tall enough to not see if you 165cm tall, any taller you can see to the other side.
The staff is super lovely. They can speak English too. The room is spacious. Good for price. Bed was very comfortable. It was clean. Provided free water. Daily house keeping. There was this one staff that was working alone at around 5pm that day, I had 3 luggage, so heavy couldn't budge at all to get out in peace, she helped me pull one luggage to the taxi and help put it in the back too. They have taxi service and it felt like a Uber. Cheaper than Uber to the airport. Maccas, family mart, and KFC was super close. Love how it's close to everything you need.

JapanThe facilities are a bit dated and even though it is clean, it doesn't fully look like it.
The location is very convenient. Lots of transport option and restaurants around. The staff was very nice, they even helped me arrange a small cake for my partner's birthday. The room was spacious and they gave us fresh bottles of water everyday. It is great value for the price.

AustraliaOccasionally we could hear some street noises after midnight even though we were situated on one of the highest levels - this could be because the hotel is near the main street with nearby restaurants operating until late.
Staff were friendly and willing to help. Room was spacious with flexible lightning. We also enjoyed the range of breakfast options served and the snacks available outside of breakfast hours.

AustraliaThe rooms are functional, but not large - but then it’s not an expensive hotel so great value.
Orange represents a great value 3 star hotel that delivers all of that. And an inclusive breakfast surprised me. A regular stop for me on short transits as so many food options in side streets nearby. Staff are very helpful. Great massage place around the corner

New ZealandCould sometimes hear vehicles driving past on the street. Lights for toilet and shower were bright enough to affect the whole room (due to lack of separation). Sink was in the room right next to the bed with no splash guard. Towels smelt funny on some days. Power sockets were in inconvenient locations (and one was just a hole in the wall). Fridge didn't cool drinks enough.
Good breakfast selection that rotated daily and free fresh fruit was available. Comfortable beds. Located close to shopping / shopping buildings. Amusingly next to fast food central; Mos Burger, McDonalds, KFC all next door (there was also a 24hr yum cha close).
