Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkMy shower head was pretty bad, the bed was a bit tilted so you couldn’t sleep in the middle (I kept rolling to the side, so I just sleep on the left side, the cleaning staff did a very bad job as well. They once hanged my used, wet towels on the rack, and the foot towel they had just tossed in the corner behind the door 🙄 I was worried they didn’t change the sheets either so I told the receptionists. The young guys in the reception were very nice and helpful.
Location is good, close to Cemberlitas station for Tram line and walking distance from Sultanahmet historical area.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaLast day of staying, the entire building experienced a water shortage. Despite having faced this issue before, they still seem unprepared, resulting in the inability to supply water during such situations.
Property was ok, near sultanahmet. Breakfast ok. One guy on the reception knows English it was easy to communicate with him.

Portugal- Not very clean - Had to ask for PILLOWS and towels twice after cleaning my room. and had to go to the reception to pick them , their workers didn’t deliver them to my room. Had to do it for them. - The fact that the reception and the rooms are on different places in the same street… The building where our rooms were had the door open all night with easy access to the rooms.
- Location is perfect

United KingdomIt wasn’t the cleanest, did have daily cleaning staff so that was good but mattresses and pillows were not clean. Pictures weren’t the same as online. It was said to be LAİLA hotel however it was called Reina hotel.
It’s near to all the attractions just walking distance, has a nice terrace with sea view and good sized rooms. Nice staff, only some are English speaking, gave good tips etc. nice lobby area to chill and they have a water fountain.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaThe wi-fi signal in room 44 is poor, bed is very very uncomfortable (maybe broken), there is a little mold on the top of the room....
We booked The Laila hotel but when we came they accommodated us in "The Reina hotel", which is better then first one. The Reina hotel is good, value for money, it's actually 30 m from The Laila hotel and all of them are on a very good location (10 min to Sultanahmet square or Cemberlitas tram station). The best thing about The Reina hotel is terrace with amazing view on Bosphorus. Rooms are clean and house maid cleans and delivers toilet papers and towels every day. There is a elevator in hotel. Staff are polite. There is a groceries near hotel opened until 1 a.m.

NetherlandsHaving a double bed but a single blanket, when I asked for a second blanket the told me they would bring it over. After 15 minutes I walked back and they got me a bed spread. Then told me I could put on the heater. Eventually I convinced him to bring another blanket. When it rained the shower ceiling was leaking. Trough the fan. The bedsheets were too small to be properly made.
The low price and the location. A working aircon/ heating unit. The turkish coffee on arrival. As I had booked an economy room, which would be an cellar room (a fact I had overlooked) they told me they upgraded me to a luxurious and bigger room. Though the big room wasn't luxurious by a stretch it made me wonder about their cellar room.

Czech RepublicDo not underestimate - The worse of everything was the incredible noise of entry doors slamming - visitors were rumbling the door till 3am every day so you feel like sleeping at the battlefield till you realize it is just doors smashing - take your earplugs, there is not any noise insulation!!! Expect to live in worn room with mold and stains here and there. The hair drier burnt first day, but they did not manage to replace/repair within a week (or they were not willing).
The Laila Hotel was at quiet location away from the rushing streets but still very in the center and with fast access to the tram and Sultanahmet square. Affordable hidden restaurants around, reception available 24/7, room service every day

United KingdomWe booked a family room but unfortunately we got allocated two separate rooms that were very small and housekeeping was not very good. We stayed 8 days and no one came to clean the toilets. They came to change the towels and that was all. We had to ask for them to come and change our beddings. I recommend booking.com to look into the hotels to make sure they meet a certain standard before advertising them online.
The location was convenient we could get around most places within a walking distance . We tried the breakfast it was good .

United StatesProperty is hard to find, because they have like 3 hotels and the front desk is in another hotels, close to Laila, but you can’t see any name to find. The room that we have is located at first floor, they have also basement rooms and second floor and third floor. We arrive in the night, at the front desk they search my reservation, made on booking, a little hard to find, but was ok after all. Then a guy took us to our room, which was in another building. The pictures from booking are nice, but the reality not so nice, after we get in the room we take a look, and we see that the room was very dirty on the floor, I don’t think that they vacuum or something. The remote from AC have been in a fire I think ( see the pictures ) and the AC was very dusty. We have a broke chair hard to use. In bathroom was mold on the edges of everything, hair dryer was very dirty and caught in a fire like AC remote. Sink and toilet was quite clean. Bed was confy, pillows was hard. On the window you will see a backyard, walls and shovel. Nobody vacuum the floor for 7 days, I don’t know why. Elevator, which is closed to rooms, is very very noise, so if you want to sleep and somebody use the elevator you can’t sleep. You can read the review also on Google with many more photos.
The property is located in center of the Istanbul. By walk you can get to everything Blue Mosque 5 minutes, Grand Bazar 10 minutes, Galata Bridge 20 minutes. Close to T1 station 5 minutes walk. They have 24/7 check in, so it is not a problem to arrive late. We arrive around 2:00 AM. Price for 7 nights was good because of the location. Guys from front desk was nice.
