Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesIt’s very noisy but that’s what you get staying in this area, it wasn’t a problem for me at all, but be prepared to not be able to sleep because of the noise at night. The only thing I didn’t like about here was that the doors for the rooms have a gap underneath. When people smoke in the reception or outside area, the smoke travels into our rooms. I was waking up to strong smells of cigarettes in our room because of this reason.
Amazing location, food and drinks all over the place. I will be back.

United KingdomWi-Fi is very hit and miss, pretty much none existent in our room, ok down in reception or breakfast room.
Sarnlç is a really nice little place, authentic Turkish hospitality, our room was small BUT very comfortable, clean. Great location, butane warned.. if you’re a light sleeper- take some ear plugs (it’s in a lively area that’s got music playing until around midnight) didn’t bother us , but could be an issue for others. The staff were amazing, beyond helpful , indeed one of the chefs gave us his Istanbul Travel card to use for the day 😊 Kadikoy/Moda area is a good hub for sightseeing, eating, drinking, shopping… even has the old type tram system operating, pretty sure we’re going back, will be staying at Sarniç again.

GuernseyWe were warned that it would be noisy, (being in the bazaar), but were unprepared for the level of noise, which was tremendous on Friday and Saturday night and continued until after 04.00. The WiFi was awful in the room until we complained, after which we obtained permission to use the WiFi of a neighbouring shop which was much stronger.
A pleasant Room (although noisy) and super friendly staff.

United KingdomBreakfast is a great tradition in Turkey. The hotel breakfast was not great. Given how easy it is to get a great breakfast in Moda, maybe either invest more in the hotel breakfast or give guests the option on a stay without breakfast but recommending a really great breakfast location locally

QatarThe lighting in the staircases are motion sensitive which is good and saves energy, but they turn off if you are coming the stairs slowly! so if they can stay on longer , the better.
I liked the staff and their friendliness more than anything else. This is a boutique hotel as it says so if you are looking for a big chain hotel with sauna and gym and pool and 3 different types of breakfast, look somewhere else. You book this hotel as you want to feel close to town and live enjoy the busy streets like the locals do.

United StatesThe hotel is located in a busy area with lots of shops and restaurants that have live music until late at night. Fortunately, I liked the musicians and singers so I enjoyed it, especially when the customers joined in. If you like a free concert in the comfort of your own room, you won’t mind the late night music. The loud cheers from the guys watching soccer games across the street was not as enjoyable.
This was one of my stranger hotel experiences. There is no lobby, simply a desk before a stairway. When my friend and I arrived the man at the desk was surly and said we didn’t have a reservation. When I showed him my printed reservation, he then said it was only for one room. Finally, he agreed we did have 2 rooms reserved. I thought I had made a big mistake booking the hotel. We went up an old beaten down staircase and when he flung open the door to my room, I was so surprised. It was lovely and spacious with the faded elegance of another era, dramatically made up bed, high ceiling with decorative painting, good quality towels. I wondered later if his behavior had been part of a performance he puts on to surprise the guests.

At first, very convenient location with walking distance from ferry boat and Havaist bus stop. The room is not big but very cozy, bathroom has everything you need ,including toothpaste, hairdryer, shampoo etc. There are a lot of bars and restaurants around. I didn't hear any disturbing noise from the restaurant as some people wrote, just usual sounds from the streets It was very good stay (2 nights) and Kadykey area is my favorite now.

CanadaThe hotel is well-managed for an old Ottoman building. It is in a youth-populated and busy area in Kadikoy. I liked the music playing in the area at night. The hotel did send me a message of warning about its loudness, but it was not a problem for me. The music stopped at 1 am.
