Hotel is in a great spot, walkable to most sites and very close to the tram. Room was spacious and bed very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay again

Don’t have elevator in the hotel and you have to walk 10 to 15 minutes to get to bus station and the street are steep elevation

An elevator would have been really helpful tbh - I visited with my parents who are pushing 65 and climbing the stairs was a little difficult for them That being said, the folks at Garden House did all they could to make sure they were comfortable.

Excellent location in old Istanbul - A walking distance from everything important in the Sultanahmet area - Fairly close to the sea too so, a long walk on the waterfront overlooking the Marmara was always an option too. Solid breakfast options across the board - Facilities were pretty good and the staff were especially helpful, assisting me with travel advice and the city's best sights and all. Garden House also has a great restaurant downstairs - It usually gets busy and crowded, but the wait is worth it because the food is excellent Room itself was pretty good, no complaints - We went for the triple room and despite the extra bed, there seemed like there was enough space for the three of us - Also, I absolutely loved the decor - Very grounded in Turkish heritage and didn't feel like just another random hotel.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Garden House Hotel in Istanbul! From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional. Tarik handled my check-in and surprised me with a complimentary room upgrade, which completely made my day. The room was stunning, with an authentic, charming feel, and even included a luxurious jacuzzi bath—it was the perfect blend of comfort and elegance. A special mention also goes to Murat, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. He assisted me with my luggage both to and from my room, which I really appreciated. His warm, attentive service made me feel right at home. The hotel itself is beautiful and full of character, with a perfect location for exploring the city. I highly recommend staying here—it's a gem in Istanbul with staff that truly go above and beyond!

The size and location of rooms vary considerably. We booked balcony rooms - two - and as we stayed at the hotel for two blocks of two nights we experienced four balcony rooms. One room had a less than inspiring view of a generator immediately in front of the 'balcony', which was just a railed zone at ground level next to the main door to the block. My room first time around was smallish, but adequate, and on the second visit I had a much bigger room with a sofa and chairs (as pictured). Part of the problem is that the web site uses the same photos for various rooms so the one you are allocated may not live up to your expectations. They are all comfortable with good air con.

The hotel is extremely well located for all the stuff any visitor to Istanbul would want to experience, but at the same time is set back from the main tourist hubs in a quieter district. Everything is within a very easy walk. All the members of staff are super-helpful, but there was one hiccup with the type of room we had booked, which had been validated directly with the hotel twice but was not correct upon arrival. The on site restaurant is incredibly popular and gets busy in the evenings. We ate there once over the course of four nights but preferred to vary our culinary experiences so we tried many excellent restaurants nearby. Breakfast was fairly extensive and included hot and cold options.

Loved the location through old neighborhoods. Staff were friendly and always helpful. We were a group of seven and specially Elvin & Davot were extra helpful and accommodating with all our needs. Definitely recommend this unique hotel with it's great restaurant.

I can't rave enough about the Garden Hotel, from the staff, to the rooms, to the location, to the restaurant, to the complimentary coffee, to the house cat Queen, to the comfortable beds and the cleanliness of the bathrooms, to the balcony, to the amazing helpful sweet and knowledgeable staff!

The bathroom towels could do with updating as some of ours we're a bit thin - it didn't spoil our stay at all, as we were only there for a couple of nights and towels were changed daily, however if we were staying for longer it may have impacted us a little more.

Great hotel providing everything required for a short city break in Istanbul. Staff were extremely friendly from the moment we booked and organised our transfer to and from the airport perfectly. Upon arrival the staff at reception were also very welcoming and made us feel comfortable straight away. It was a bonus to learn upon arrival that free bottles of water were provided daily in the rooms, as well as there being a free coffee machine, juice, fruit and a cake available all day/night in the lobby. The outdoor area/breakfast area had a lovely vibe to it and although we didn't eat at the hotel for lunch or dinner, it seemed popular and hotel guests are given 15% off one meal here during their stay, which is also a nice touch. The bed was probably one of the comfiest we have ever slept in! The location of the hotel is fantastic for exploring the city. We left feeling the hotel had exceeded our expectations, especially for the price.

The room looked a little tired and it was a hot, sweaty walk up the four flights so it may not be suitable for less mobile guests. There was more than enough charm to make up for it and our overall experience was excellent.

Super friendly staff and excellent, generous breakfast included, as well as access to excellent free coffee, fruit and biscuits in the picturesque lobby. Our room had a balcony overlooking the dining courtyard and a fabulous view of the water. Loved the spa bathtub after a long-haul flight and a full day of sightseeing. Fantastic location in easy walking distance of the main Old Town attractions. The staff went above and beyond, hauling our 30kg suitcase up four flights of stairs and preparing takeaway sandwiches for us when we had to depart for the airport too early for breakfast on the second morning. We used the hotel shuttle service which was more expensive than a taxi, but extremely comfortable. The ride to the airport had bonus 'bling' which made the trip more memorable! Would be very happy to stay again.

We were in a ground floor room next to a busy street. It was very noisy 24/7. Earplugs essential as there is no sound proofing. The toilet seat was tiny compared with the size of the toilet and clearly not intended for that toilet which was a bit odd and made using the toilet difficult.

Centrally located. Nice character. Staff friendly.nice room with big comfortable bed. Great shower...lots of hot water. Lovely breakfast.

My only minor issue was that our room was off a stair well that was very hot so we had to leave the air conditioning on low continuously. Without that I would have rated Garden House a 10.

Feels like a family business run professionally. The staff are kind and happy to help. The location is fabulous- just a short walk to all the main Istanbul attractions. We stayed in a balcony room which was nice and quiet and let in wonderful fresh air.

Staff are the friendliest, location is central, our room was comfortable. Restaurant downstairs was great too. We loved the garden and enjoyed the delicious breakfast.
