Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomThe barber shop in the hotel was really bad. He did not do what I asked for. Not even close to it. He charged me 100 US dollar (Super expensive) and asked for it to be in cash as he doesnt use card. It was unpleasant saloon experience in a 5 start hotel.
The breakfast was great and the room was spacious and the location is great for walking around the city.

RomaniaThe attitude of the valet parking staff. Although we confirmed with the reception, at the time of check-in, that we will pay for the parking at the end of the stay, the porter and the valet parking team asked us every day to pay for the parking, otherwise they would not bring our car. Every time, we explain to them that we pay for parking at the end of the stay. Twice, they yelled at me, telling me that if I don't pay, they won't give me the car. After I sent them to check at the reception, they came back and told me that everything was OK and that they would bring my car. This story was repeated every day for 4 days. Another aspect that I did not like was at the breakfast. No one came to ask you if you wanted coffee or anything else. You had to wait and look for a waiter and tell him you want coffee or tea. Because there is no live cooking station, the waiter did not tell you that he can offer you other types of food than the open buffet, such as omelette, fried eggs, etc. If you were lucky enough to see it at other tables, you show them that you want something like that too.
Overall, the hotel was OK. The location of the hotel is very good, the room is spacious, clean and nicely decorated and furnished.

Overall Divan Hotel offered us all we could ask for: the staff was exceptionally friendly and very engaged with the guests and tried their best to accommodate special requests. The hotel lobby is very comfortable to enjoy a coffee with some pastries from the Divan patisserie. The rooms were big and comfortable, with a nice view of the Bosphorus.

I liked everything about this hotel, the staff are so friendly, brilliant spa and really comfortable room. It is just a great hotel all round in a great location. I have stayed in 5 star hotels next door to this one and there is no comparison. I will always stay here again when I visit Istanbul
