Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere was nothing I didn’t like.
The staff were amazing and proactive about checking all was well which made me feel really welcome. Nima on the front desk was always so helpful and welcoming and Gürhan in the top floor breakfast room so kind and attentive - I really enjoyed the daily coffees he prepared! Ilhan too saw me off to my taxi with a cheerful wave. I had a sea view room with comfortable bed and good quality bed linen. It was a relaxing space and I enjoyed coming back to rest and read for a couple of hours after a day of sightseeing before heading out for dinner. The room had good lighting including overhead reading lights and such a lovely view. The breakfasts were delicious and quite varied - the salads were great, also scrambled eggs (menemen one morning), fresh bread, a variety of jams (including rose and cherry). Lovely food with a great view!

United States of AmericaThe rooms are a little small. But there's a very sweet lounge in the reception area.
A lavish selection of items available for breakfast. The location was incredible. Just a 10 minute walk to a street with several great restaurants rated highly be Michelin and Gault et Millau, and Fine Dine, a grand hotel top floor restaurant with a spectacular view of the mosques and palaces of the city. It is an easy walk to almost all of Trip Advisors top 10 attractions in Istanbul.

United KingdomThe street where the hotel is could have been cleaner.
Breakfast room very nice. Could eat inside or on the terrace. Good selection. I found the fruit salad poor. Also as a yoghurt lover there was only a large dish of not very appetising plain yoghurt. There was bread and cakes and a couple of hot dishes so with me it was just a personal thing.

United States of AmericaCharming old style hotel. Loved our room. The rooftop breakfast room had fabulous view of Bosphorus and Blue Mosque. We went back in afternoon and evening to enjoy a quiet break. Near to several nice restauants and a small mall. Staff were great. We will go back. You do need to go up about 10 steps from 3rd floor elevator to get to rooftop breakfast.

United States of AmericaThe decor is suppose to be vintage but the wallpaper was coming off the wall which didn't bother me. Other than that it was perfect.
The staff is amazing and very polite and attentive. The location was perfect. It was a a pretty quiet neighborhood but very close to most points of interest. The blue mosque and Hagia Sophia were within a 10 minute walk, the Grand Bazaar was about 15-17 minute walk and the Spice Bazaar is about 20-25 minute walk. Breakfast is very good and has a great view. I travel alone and the hotel made sure that I felt safe and there is always someone at the front desk and they check each visitor by calling your room to make sure you were expecting a visitor. Definitely felt safe.

United States of AmericaPenthouse Suite: * When entering the room, all the curtains are closed. Why? The best feature of the room is the view! * Overall the room feels dark. The ceiling is beautiful, but the wall color looks sad. * Furnishing: somehow tacky, dark, and outdated: could be updated. * Lighting: overhead ceiling lights do not convey a warm atmosphere. A few more sconces, table lamps, or floor lamps need to be added for a cozy ambiance. * Bed: Queen size. Why? The room could easily accommodate a King size. * Bedding: outdated bed cover. Only 2 pillows. No blanket. They then provided extra pillows and a blanket. * Balcony: - Feels bare, could be arranged with plants and flowers. - In the evening, it is very hot and sunny. An awning would definitely help. * Missing in room: - Tissue box - Bottle of water - Instruction for TV remote controls: we could not get the TV to work. We don't know which remote is for what. Also, the TV settings need to be in English. - Netflix account: the hotel should provide their own account. It takes too long to enter our personal password, and then remember to logout before we check out. * WiFi: we had to re-enter the password each end every time! Really annoying. The password is your passport number. Way too complicated! * Bathroom: - Window rolling shade next to the tub full of mold. Needs to be replaced. - Not enough shelves to put our stuff - Bathtub does not drain properly * Breakfast: overall bad. The lady in the breakfast room is on her cell phone and does not pay attention to what is going on. Systematically out of coffee and scrambled eggs: I got the last half cup of coffee and half a scoop of eggs, every morning! Really frustrating. Nothing else was worth eating (except for yogurt). The orange juice is made out of Tang juice powder. The industrial croissants are served in their plastic cellophane.
Best about the hotel: excellent LOCATION for first time visitors. Excellent reception staff. The Penthouse Suite is a great value: cozy and comfortable with unbeatable views and a small balcony. It feels like an apartment studio, but a few improvements could be made. Side note: the handbag store next door has the best price of Istanbul.

United States of AmericaOnly difficulty was sometimes getting lost finding my way back, especially after dark.
Breakfast was a daily delight. Quality tops, great selection, lots of options for varying the meal from day to day. The scrambled eggs were especially good, not overcooked. Wish I had the recipe for that spicy Georgian-Abkhazian garnish.
