Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThe rooms are old and not very well kept. Lighting is also a bit dingy. Getting to the property in a car is challenging as the roads leading to the hotel are very narrow with sharp turns
The property is very close to the old bazaar and all popular destinations are almost at walkable distance. Also, one of the few properties inside the old bazaar that also have parking

United StatesWill add more points if front desk can provide more smiles n being more friendly. Although the young gentleman working evening shifts is very friendly n helpful. Taxi direction is not truly clear. Rather than getting a big van, I would have gotten a smaller yellow cab at the airport if I have been informed that only small yellow cabs are allowed in the old town. I called front desk and asked if cabs are allowed to drop us off at the front of the hotel. The answer was yes but he didn’t mention that only small cabs are allowed. May be can change the breakfast variety a little?
Excellent location in the old town. Room is well kept. Love the common rooms n well kept garden.

UkraineWe booked this hotel at the last minute to stay overnight after the flight. The slight disappointment was that I booked 2 rooms with big beds. At the reception, we were told that they had 1 room with a big bed and another with twin beds —in fact, both were tiny rooms with twin beds. We didn't ask for change; we were too tired, but this was unpleasant. My room had no view - corner of the wall and inner yard. It seemed like they gave us the worst option since it was one night only. I would love to come back but I would make sure the rooms and everything will be good and worth the money we pay.
It has a superb location in the middle of downtown; however, it is quiet. The hotel has a small swimming pool, which is lifesaving during hot summer days, especially when you are too lazy and tired to go anywhere.

United KingdomThe pool area was quite small and only a few sun beds but we knew this upon booking so it was expected.
The staff at reception were really welcoming and helpful recommending trips and organising airport taxis for us. The bar staff were really attentive and made lovely cocktails. The room was basic but had everything we need. Really close to restaurants/bars and the beach was 2 minutes away!

South AfricaThe property is centrally located in Old Town, Kaleiçi walking distance from Mermerli Beach, Old Town restaurants/pubs and the trams/busses. The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and always available. The breakfast is great - wide variety. We had a standard room and was compact but had the necessary amenities apart from a kettle - hot water/tea/coffee was available in the bar area. Water was supplied to the room. We visited in July (extremely hot) and unfortunately the swimming pool (as shown above) was closed from 19:00 which was a bit disappointing but understandable since there are rooms right next to the pool. Still would have been great to swim in the heat;)

United KingdomBreakfast selection was very limited. Coffee or water for example. Hot food was boiled eggs, omelette and chips. No toaster. I’m in Turkey, maybe they provide a Turkish breakfast. I get it but add some beans, a toaster, yoghurt and juices and it would be very much improved for an international clientele. Very few sun beds but there was space for others, especially in the shaded areas around the pool. The pool image above shows sun beds in locations where there weren’t any.
Location was excellent a couple of minutes walk to the harbour. Staff were lovely, attentive and couldn’t have been more accommodating. The hotel is right in the centre of old town Kaleici, down a quiet street barely big enough for a car but wasn’t affected by noise at all. When we left for the airport at 3:30am, Kaleici was bouncing with holiday makers enjoying the nightlife. In the hotel you’d have assumed everybody in the town was tucked up in bed. That makes it an excellent location.
