Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesBreakfast was not mind blowing. Coffee from the coffee machine was awful, I walked to a coffee shop every morning to get something stronger. I would caution less mobile people about staying here as you have to walk two blocks uphill to reach the tram, which was difficult for my mother-in-law. We only learned on our last day that they had the golf cart to bring people uphill. Also there is no pool at the property. It’s a great place to stay if you just need a room to sleep and be within easy walking distance to attractions. But in terms of leisure within the hotel, there isn’t much within the hotel itself. Also, not every room has sofas. Only rooms that are considered quadruple have sofas as they pull out into additional beds. And twin beds were very narrow for adults (but that seems to be a Turkey thing). All things to keep in mind.
This is a great value for your money! I loved how clean the property was. The cleaning lady came every day to clean, tidy up our room, and replenish our soap and shampoos. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. When we asked for restaurant recommendations, they not only told us where to go but walked us there. And when we booked a spa treatment at the hotel and the lady called in sick, the staff got us a reservation at the nearby Hammam and walked us over. The location is within 10-15 min walk to all the main attractions and two blocks away from main shopping street. The hotel is close to everything but still tucked away on a quieter street with plenty of good restaurants to chose from. And the hotel has a little golf cart like car to drive handicapped people around.

The facilities were what one would expect of a four or five star hotel. The location was excellent for walking to most historic places in the SultanAhmed and Fatih area, but far enough as not to be noisy. The breakfast was especially good and the staff very helpful. There was an extremely good restaurant Mivan, two minutes walk away on the same street, on the same side as the hotel. We have been to Istanbul many times and this was our best hotel ever. But it is a little on the expensive side.
