Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaBeds were on the firm side. None of the units have a view of the water, which is a pity, but we did have a garden view. There was a massage parlour located next to the reception area prior to Covid, but this has now closed permanently. We ordered a mango smoothie in the beginning of our stay but were disappointed as it tasted like cordial and I suspect that they had no fresh fruit but didn't want to admit it. We had seen other fruit smoothies they made (watermelon) and they looked fine. However, we subsequently ate/drank at the shops down the beach and were happy with our choices there.
We were able to arrange a free transfer from Naban pier on Koh Larn to the resort at short notice, which was much appreciated. Xanadu Beach resort looks a little run down in general, and our room was relatively basic/minimalist. There was a small bar fridge, and a complimentary bottle of water was provided daily (just as well, as the tap water comes from an artisan bore, and tastes like it...). The bathroom was rather dated, and very colourful (with different colour tiles on each wall) but did have a glass shower frame and hot/cold water. The air conditioner worked well, but the curtains were not block out. The resort is quite large and consists of double storey rows of units. We were located on the ground floor, but this still required us to negotiate a flight of stairs to reach it, with a common verandah/walkway at the the front, and a small private balcony at the rear. There are no lifts. We had breakfast included, which consisted of a choice of either American, Thai or a Chinese set breakfast. The dining area looks over the beach and was an amazing spot to dine and relax. There were also sun lounges located on the beach that were free to use for guests, as were beach towels. Next door to the resort were several other businesses that catered for the daily visitors, renting out sun lounges and providing food/drinks. As we visited during the low season (late May) there not many visitors, but that also meant that the restaurants on the beach closed about 5pm (last ferry leaves the island at 6pm) so you had to eat there early, or chose to eat later at the resort. Samae Beach was however relatively undeveloped, particularly in contrast to the many high rise buildings in Pattaya, which we found very relaxing, and the water is a great temperature! There was a ring of floats around the beach, around 100 metres out in the water, so that the beach is very safe even for those on floats or boards.

ThailandThis is the only hotel on the beach so not much to do at night. But take some beer or wine and relax in restaurant. Water entrance may be stoney when you have low tide, but when water is full it's perfect. Also main beach just 1 minute walk. As for me I didn't like shampoo, so if you care about hair - take your own. Only 1 towel per person. But it's enough
Almost everything was great. They have free shuttle bus from Na Baan pier (goes every 30 mins), and also you can use sunbeds for free is you stay in hotel. They also provide beach towels. Rooms are very spacious, staff is very friendly and answer all questions, they even called me whe my room was ready, while I was resting on the beach. Breakfast was just very good, included in room rate. A lot of places to eat, but we didn't move from hotel anywhere. Menu is not that bug, but if you stay 1-2 days it won't bother you.

United States of AmericaRooms could use some updating-lighting, paint, etc.
The location was fabulous, I loved being on the beach. The rooms are worn and not super comfy-no bedside light, just bright overhead lights. The bathroom was pretty worn, but the water was fine for showering. It was a good value for the room, and I’d stay there again.

CanadaThe food! The breakfast was good and they accommodated our special requests (crispy bacon, more tomatoes, darker toast); but most of the other meals were not good. They need better cooks. The service was good though; everyone was friendly. One more complaint is about the umbrellas. They weren't close enough together and there were spaces of sun shining through.
Beautiful beach steps away. Friendly workers, great service. Big room cleaned well. Beautiful sunsets. Amazing fire show once a week.

AustraliaIt could be smelly at times but given the location, it’s hard to avoid. The breakfast was too much food of mid quality. I’d rather less food but of higher quality but recognise that it’s hard to provide as high a standard in a more remote location as you can in a big town.
Food was ok, service was exceptional, plenty to do, but not right in the hubbub.

PolandIt's very popular place, and sometimes can feel a bit crowded, especially during holidays.
It's located right on the beach. This is one of five Koh Larn beaches, and it's more secluded than most resorts in town. It's one of only few hotels in town with private beach access.

AustraliaUnfortunately there are no sea views from the rooms. Also they could do with some more beach lounges, it was often hard to find an unoccupied one
Very close to the beach, good breakfast and friendly staff. There are a few small restaurants along the beach serving good Thai food. A good place to watch the sunset. Rooms are basic but large and clean.

CanadaThe place is in need of a bit of paint touch-up and the like. Still very functional for a simple beach accommodation, but looking a bit worn in places.
Free breakfast offered 3 choices, was plentiful, tasty, and was served by lovely, smiling staff. The restaurant/bar staff, with whom we had more frequent interaction, were very friendly and helpful (e.g., remembered favourite tables, offered to take photos of us). Having clean beach towels supplied daily was much appreciated. Free shuttle to/from the ferry pier was easily arranged.
