Breakfast room and dinner place lacks charm, considering its a 5star hotel. Warm beer is not a plus too. As its a remote hotel, what is extremely inconvenient is that 9pm all facilities are closed. Not even a beach bar is open

Bathrooms could use and upgrade but they have done a great job keeping them very clean- which says a lot for tile and grout in asia!!

Welcome drink and cold towels were an exceptional welcome to the property! Beachfront property with nice pool, great swings, lookout points and kayak option. The buffet breakfast had tons of options, all of the western options you could hope for plus all of the Asian options as well. Self serve cappuccino makers were a plus as well. The staff was always gracious and helpful, quick to respond for rides up and down the hill since we were located at the top. There is a nice trolly that also operates to get you from the top down to the beachfront since the venture down would not be pleasant unless you’re out for a hike!

They were renovating the main restaurant so breakfast was usually full with no place to sit. Also missed having breakfast with a view, tram also in maintenance.

There was some construction that was an eye sore. There were many loud children at the upper pool.

The beach was private and beautiful. The room was not up to expectations at first, it was a little older and did not feel super clean, but they were able to upgrade me to another room that was much nicer and felt extremely clean with great views of the ocean. For such a big resort, the breakfast was pretty decent, but the breakfast views were unbeatable.

We loved our holiday at the Sylvan. The location was perfect for us. It is on a very pretty, quiet beach with easy access to nearby shops and restaurants. We did have our own car so getting about was easy. The staff were all wonderful and made sure our stay was very relaxing. We would absolutely recommend staying here and look forward to coming back one day.

Some family stayed in the accommodation near the top pool & they felt the accommodation was a bit dated, didn’t provide conditioner in the bathroom or the body lotion that was in the accommodation at the beach.

Friendly but discreet staff. Beautiful location & facilities. Both pools are good, the beach pool has a lovely shallow area for young children. Accessible beach, shallow water but able to float & snorkel. Restaurants were both great with plenty of choice for food. Beach side room was really lovely. Spa day was great. Location close to village with great restaurants.

The property decor feels a bit mismatched between the newly renovated rooms and older sections. The property itself is very large and hilly so you must get around by buggy. Many options at breakfast but food was just okay.

We had a nice and restful stay at Sylvan. We stayed in the newer room, which was comfortable. Staff were friendly.

It’s a bit hustle with the up and down the hill between the room to access the beach and facilities next to the beach. But there were options to facilitate the guests.

The property is nice and clean. The sea view is wonderful. The staffs are all nice, friendly and helpful. Great service.
