Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

IsraelWe booked 6 nights and left after one night. The pools were HOT and not refreshing at all. there was no shade anywhere, the place was not suitable for small children, the bar and restaurant prices were over the top and the reception staff were very unwelcoming. The hotel wanted to charge us extra for our nanny that came during the day. We waited for over an hour for our check in despite arriving after check in time, and every 15 minutes we were told it would just be a few more minutes but in fact it took over an hour. We asked for two rooms with baby cod which didn’t arrive until much later in the day. Will not return
The place is beautiful and impressive

AustraliaWe noticed other guests were very rude and abrupt to staff.
Gorgeous facilities, rooms, amenities and staff. Truly and experience where attention to detail is unmatched. Extremely clean and accomodating. We were a couple and really enjoyed that there were allocated adults only pool areas. Family friendly areas looked very well equipped for families. Fantastic dining options and activities.

United Arab EmiratesThe resort needs to seriously update their food game. The breakfast spread is huge but the experience is a bit chaotic, lot of people and uncleared tables and kids screaming so we dreaded to go down everyday. The menus across the restaurants and the poolside needs an update, it is either fast food or then some run of the mill dishes that is available every other touristy places. No focus on local ingredients or dishes. We ordered a chicken with cashew nuts and chicken green curry through room service and it was the worst thai food we have had in thailand and we are huge fans of thai food. The chicken was grilled in large chunks and just added to a green curry topped with a loooooooot...of baby eggplants and same for the other chicken dish - grilled chicken topped with a sauce - we were extremely disappointed with the selection of thai food in the property. In fact on the last afternoon of our stay the pool bar did not even have fresh coconuts in stock!!!!
Property is expansive and grounds are well maintained. Especially a good choice for families with kids (even teenagers). Pool is a bit too big and spread across a large area with kid friendly areas as well but not shaded at all and the pool is not temperature controlled so the water is very hot. The location is a bit removed and isolated, without a vehicle it is difficult to commute. It is not a beach property, one has to cross the road to actually get to the beach and it is a public beach so not so well maintained. We were there during the solar eclipse and the beach was infested with dead jelly fish, which means the water must a lot so need to be especially careful with kids. Rooms are large and well appointed & comfortable.

United Arab EmiratesThe rooms are in desperate need of a refurb. Very dated and old. Bedding and pillows were also quite uncomfortable and housekeeping need a bit of training. Bathroom amenities (soap/cotton buds etc) were not refreshed throughout the week and the coffee mugs were just rinsed out in the bathroom.
The Pool is massive with a nice bar. Most of the staff are really pleasant and helpful too. Breakfast selection was also very good. Also liked the location being quite secluded and away from town but the difficult part is then trying to get to town as taxis are hard to come by

IndiaThere was no feel of 5 star hotel. There was a Lizard in my room. My husband got sick , called at the reception 12 times but no one answered the phone.Leaving my sick husband alone in the room had to go all the way to reception to ask for medicine, but they said their nurse leaves at six o clock and the medicines are with her , we are soo sorry about that. This was their answer. Their breakfast timings are from 6:30 to 10:30 and we went around 9:45 and everything was finished. I asked for sugar and coffee in the room but they brought just 2 sachets that too after 40 mins. I stayed there for 3 nights , first day they cleaned my room and second day i kept on calling them to clean my room , they came at 7 o clock in the evening that too i had to fight with the housekeeping people. Then on the day of check out i called for the bell boy he didn’t turn up for 40 mins that also after 4 calls . I thought i would miss my flight. Have stayed world over but never had the need to give such a bad review. This is the worst property.
There is nothing to like about the property. It was a pathetic experience. My first and last stay in Sofitel .

United Arab EmiratesBeing in the Hospitality industry myself I understand the challenges and can let many things slide. I know how difficult it is to run a resort however there were a few things to note: 1. Golf: The add stated an 18-hole golf course. it is actually a 9-hole meshy course (par 3 course). We had to rent a set of clubs for myself and my son EACH (was made clear these are the rules, can't share), yet we still had to share because the clubs are incomplete (missing clubs), and they only had female clubs (no metal stiff shaft clubs). All the water holes are empty and under maintenance (this was not indicated during booking). The staff told us how important it is to book since they are very busy in the morning, yet after spending 2 hours on the course from 9am the morning... we were the only people on the course. 2. Meals: We took the half board package but was told that the evening we arrived that there would be no evening buffet anymore. we had to book and use the Italian, Indian or Thia restaurant that you could only select 2 items (for Indian and Thai) and 3 from the Italian menu. Typically, in all other hotels we stayed half board included local alcohol, soft drinks and water, here NOTHING was included, and we had to pay extra for EVERYTHING. Again, not made clear when making the booking. 3. Arrival: It all started on the wrong note when we were left stranded at the airport when nobody showed up from the arrange airport collection. Phoning took 30min only to hear yeh we can't find your airport transfer and was told... use a taxi. Arriving at the Hotel and it was just swept under the carpet. 4. Pool Bar: staff GREAT, service GREAT, they can do with a shade in the pool for the pool bar, there is only a small section that has shading, and everybody huddled in there to get out of the baking sun. Additionally, the poor bartender was dripping of sweat and could do with a few fans in the bar to keep in cool as well.
The Hotels is great when you get there, the staff very friendly and helpful. The Hotel has great facilities, and we really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. There are a number of F&B options that allows variety and when you stay for an extended time you don't have to eat the same food over and over. The facilities are well maintained and probably as clean as can be expected.

SingaporeSeveral things could have been better: 1- No one answered the phone when we called from our room - Guest Services, Housekeeping, Concierge, Room Service etc - not at all! Just rang and rang and no one answered, 2 - The pool service bell at the pool deck chairs also didn't work so we had to go up to the pool bar to order. 3 - I had to ask for a iron/board twice at the reception (as no one answered the phone) before I got one delivered to my room. 4 - At the breakfast buffet, they ran out of cloth napkins - how is this possible! 5 - The ice cream and condiments at the Ice Cream shop were a little stale. 6 - As the staff walk around, they should pick up rubbish on the floor and spot clean stains etc. 7 - The resort is in need of a refresh especially in the rooms.
The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. Valen at the reception was great to deal with. We liked the band who played every night at the bar - they were very good. The pool was was very well organised with the "Adults only" section. The fitness centre was great. Food variety/quantity at the breakfast buffet was very good. The food at the Thai/Indian restaurant was outstanding! Although we did not have young kids with us, we noticed the huge effort which the staff went to keep the little ones entertained. We liked the different facilities offered at this resort.

United Arab EmiratesThe reception staff's response towards the guest is very poor. Requests made were handled either sluggishly or ignored entirely. They don't speak English fluently and take advantage of this fact and act ignorant. Interactions with front desk staff often felt cold and impersonal, which is not what is expected of a hotel of this caliber. The rooms, although spacious, were not up to par in terms of cleanliness. The aircon vents and lampshades had visible dust settled on them. The fan continuously made squeaky sounds and was noisy. Regarding the restaurants, the buffet breakfast was the most boring spread of the same menu every single day. The Italian restaurant was good and worth a try. The Indo-Thai restaurant food quality was good. However, the staff seemed confused and unsure what to do, ultimately making guests wait at every step starting from seating until food delivery. The lack of attention to guest experience and subpar services unfortunately overshadowed the natural beauty of Krabi.
The activity centre staff and the spa staff were exceptionally good in the services provided. I strongly recommend going with the hotel activities although it might seem pricier. The spa ambience, services, and treatments were nothing short of amazing. It's commendable and worth visiting.

United Arab EmiratesService was very slow. The fan was not working in our room and even after informing the room service, no one came to fix it. Had asked for an early check in and late check out - neither happened. All 5 star hotels that I have been to do provide some relaxation on check in / check out - but did not happen with Sofitel. In fact this is my first stay at Sofitel.
The property is very huge. Easy access to the beach and restaurants outside. Friendly staff. Breakfast was very good.
