Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hostel is LOUD which is exactly what we expected, ear plugs might suffice for you but after trying to have an early night we decided it was impossible so went and watched some of the fights instead in our pjs. It would be nice if we got discounts at the bar staying in the hostel but this wasn’t the case. The only thing I’d mention is the reggae bar during the day is very smelly/very hot and isn’t very clean so although this only is a 2 minute part of your day, when you’re walking through to leave the hostel rooms you’ll want to prepare yourself and cover your nose.
The hostel is exactly as it says on the tin! The room is very basic and dark but has everything you need (including an en suite bathroom). You get free access to the Muay Thai fights and also a little balcony to look from which is cool as it gets SUPER busy. The AC was great and we were able to get fresh towels on request. We got early check in too which was brill. The location is in the middle of all the hustle and bustle in phi phi so you never have too far to walk. If you want to use a pool we used one of the hotels nearby.

United KingdomSink was broken and gushed out everytime we used it, the rooms aren’t very well signposted and the place seemed closed when we arrived - the only bad noise we experienced was a group of young kids treating the place like swings and roundabouts till 4am
Bed was comfy & aircon was fabulous & they cleaned the room everyday with fresh bottles of water - the sound from the actual reggae bar wasn’t bad, maybe because we were in a corner room - breakfast was good, bonus on top of the fact that the accom is so cheap!

DenmarkIt gets loud even in the rooms, which is alright for a few days and we didn’t mind. But if you are looking for an early and calm night in this is not a place you should choose ;)
Staying here was quite unique- it’s a fun experience seeing the improvised tourist boxing and some Muay Thai. You get to watch the ring and excited crowd from above from a little balcony used by mainly people staying here. Rooms are fine and location is right in the middle of the town.

Really nice located in koh phiphi. Important thing you should know : this bar is full each evening and it’s -really- loud. They organise fights and it’s really entertaining. It was not a problem for us because we liked to look at it. But skip this place if you want a calm stay !

United KingdomWe think the property is expensive for what you get in comparison to other islands in Thailand but I think that is Phi Phi in general (more expensive). Could have done with a fridge in the room and the bathroom sink was always leaking - minor points.
The main benefit about this property is the location and the breakfast every morning. Our room was not directly above the boxing arena so we didn’t find it too loud at all and could get to sleep fine. We enjoyed watching the boxing. The aircon is great and rooms were clean and bed was comfortable.

United KingdomJust as above, great for a one night stay, or if your up partying till the early morning. Lots of steps to the room, which was hard work with our bags, noise from revellers till after 2.
Room was central, and while I did read the Muy Thia was on late every night I didn't understand the noise this would make. Great for a one night stay, bu It of fun. Staff were really friendly. Breakfast was free and good. The bed was really rather comfy. No fridge. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room

United KingdomBreakfast wasn’t served until 8:30 so if you have a ferry in the morning like we did you miss it which is annoying. Also the Muay Thai goes on until 1am which didn’t matter to us but some people might mind as it is quite loud on the rooms.
The property location was really good and you get free entry to the Muay Thai at night which should be 2000 baht per person which we enjoyed. The room was clean the bed was comfy and the air on was good.

CanadaIt's good for the money. The staff is really nice. Giant steps to go up to the room. It's inside a bar that has a boxing rink and it gets packed. Like 400 people packed. Flights stop at 1 and it's relatively quiet during the evening (at least my room was since it was all the way up and to the corner). I recommend it if you're spending most of the day outside the room. AC works well. Rooms are big.

United KingdomNo fridge or kettle in room but I got free hot water for tea from the bar so not a problem really.
Best nights sleep in Thailand so far! Bed very comfy air conditioning very quiet. Loved watching the Thai kickboxing and tourists boxing, great entertainment! 2nd night I even had a go in the ring not bad for a 43yr old mum haha! Fights finished around 12 so getting to sleep was no problem. Breakfast simple but nice and lovely staff. Also stored our backpacks on checkout as we had a few hours to kill before moving on.

RomaniaBecause there is a Muay Thai ring below the accommodation, there is noise every night, until 2-3 AM. We could sleep with earplugs, however, it would be nice to include somewhere in the description, so that people know what to expect. For younger, more party, excitement seeking tourists it might be an excellent choice, however, for people seeking more quiet definitely wouldn't be a good choice.
The room is basic, but clean, with a big bathroom. The mattress is a bit harder, but I prefer harder mattresses, for me they were brilliant. The AC is good. The staff is friendly, they offered to clean our room daily. Also, they supplied clean towels, water and toilet paper every day. The location is excellent, close to the pier, restaurants, beaches, and everything happening in Phi Phi. On the ground floor, there is a Muay Thai ring, where every night there are fights, where both locals and foreigners can join. Volunteering people get a free bucket of drink. It is fun to watch and cheer for the fighters. The breakfast provided is huge and tasty, consisting of 2 eggs, 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 slices of bread, coffee and fruit juice.
