Very small beach here but water very swimmable.

Beach front pool with great outlook and plenty of lounges plus beach access. Restaurant fronts beach. No noise issues given Chawengs party environment. Well located for restaurants and bars. Ate breakfast outside as cheaper and not subject to 10am finish.

There is no communication from the room to reception. I feel they could have a few more sweet things added to breakfast ie pacakes or Waffles.

The location is fantastic. The pool was sparkling clean and the lush gardens were scenic.

Decor was a little dated & it was quite noisy with other guests & nearby bars playing music until late. Breakfast options were quite limited considering the price.

Good location, close to the beach & shops in Chaweng. Small pool with loungers near the beach entrance. Would recommend for 1 or 2 nights.

We had an issue with the hot water on our second night, there wasn't any! We forgot to report it the following morning so still didn't have any on our last night either and it was too late for them to fix it but I am sure if we remembered to tell the staff earlier in the day it would have been rectified.

We stayed in the front villa closest to the beach with our own pool and it was absolutely wonderful. The beach is beautiful but does have some rocks exposed at low tide however it's only a short walk to the better section of the beach. Buffet breakfast served in the beachfront restaurant was delicious with lots of variety available. The hotel location is fantastic, at the end of a little lane which has a bar, hair salon/laundry and a great fruit smoothie and roti stand just around the corner. At the end of the lane is the main street which is lined with restaurants, bars, shops, stalls, 7/11, money exchange and everything you need. It is only a short walk to the main party area but far enough away that the music didn't disturb us. We did stay in low season so it was pretty quiet but I imagine the rooms above the reception area would be very noisy especially in peak times!

Reception staff on checkinn very little to no English and made a couple of errors. Breakfast very average for price included in booking.

Things falling apart. Dodgy Electrical. Room had musty smell for a few days. Basic Services. Room had missing door between toilet and kitchen

The water pressure is too weak. The secondary door lock is broken and it did worry me a bit as i was a solo female traveller.

The shower did not work properly due to water issues on two days. The coffee was not very tasty as in most of Thailand. The noise from the loud beach bars.

The location next to the beach and the individual bungalows with outside seating and outlook on the well maintained garden. The pool looking out over the ocean was great with lots of sunbeds.

Ideal location for those looking for beach access, Chaweng walking street proximity, and distance from potentially noisy nightlife hotspots. Staff were considerate and attentive - incredibly helpful for recommendations of local attractions or in the event of minor room issues.

The only thing I would point out is that the beach outside the resort is located in front of the breaksea barrier, so the water is not the best for swimming, its more of a lagoon, and not as nice as it is further down Chaweng beach, but an easy few minutes walk and you are at the best part of the beach, so really no issue.

Great value, we booked a private pool villa and it was such a great decision! The villa was very private and we really had a fantastic stay. Staff and housekeeping were very nice, location was great, right by the beach, and still in downtown Chaweng, just a short walk to the shopping centre, restaurants and nightlife. I am so pleased we found Montien House.
