Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandYou should rent a scooter to get around as much as you want, just be aware the villa is on a hill so expect a steep road. What would be a +upgrade would be a juice maker in the kitchen to enjoy the nice fruits from market as a juice or shake 😊
We had a very nice stay at the villa. Pool was clean, the furniture is nicely picked.

United StatesWhile being on top of the mountain at 304 ft is certainly picturesque, it proved impossible for us to use a scooter due to the profound steepness of the grade. Therefore, we were forced to walk and take exorbitantly priced taxis from the local taxi mafia that charge $6-$10 usd, for a very short (8 min) ride, depending on the time of day and number of passengers. What’s more, they wouldn’t honor the price the Villa Management told us it would cost, nor would they take us to our steps to the unit! Also, the lighting along the steep stairway is not fully functional, requiring flashlights to navigate when dark. The property should really consider some transport assistance for those who wish to dive daily or patronize local businesses and restaurants, rather than wasting so much money on ridiculous cab fares. Second, the a/c is a typical mini-split system with one unit in the bedroom and the other in the spacious living room. Management has them set so both cannot run simultaneously, meaning one room or the other gets extremely hot very quickly. The one unit in the living room can barely cool the space adequately. If one of you is working remotely and needs a space to work, one of you is forced to suffer through the heat in the other room. The ceiling fans do little than to circulate the hot air that’s risen to the ceiling. Finally, a microwave would be a wonderful addition to the kitchen to warm up leftovers on days guests don’t want to order in or go into town. There is only a tiny manual espresso maker. A small coffee pot would be nice.
The views and pool are outstanding and the rooms are spacious.

United KingdomThe air conditioning was slightly temperamental. The remote didn't always register so it was difficult to change the settings. You could also only have the bedroom or lounge one on at any time which meant one of these rooms was always boiling until you got the ac going. The bathroom was also boiling, we were sweating after getting out of the shower. But I guess it's difficult to get a perfect temperature when the outside is close to 40 degrees!
The villa is gorgeous and exactly as per the photos. We loved how private it felt and the pool was perfect. The views were stunning and it was amazing to have such a great view.

It has the best view you can have and the pool was awesome, way bigger than I thought with complete privacy. Also the villa itself is pretty big. The staff were very helpful and arranged everything for us with very reasonable prices. Can't wait to come back!

Germany- bed rather uncomfortable (hard mattresses) - staff hung around directly in front and below our villa (Villa infinity) which seems unnecessary. It’s fine if are not busy but please be not busy somewhere else ;) Overall, we highly recommend staying here (even and especially with kid(s))! Should we come back to Koh Tao, we will stay here!
We stayed for 6 nights with a 1.5 yo kid. Our obvious likes: + private pool + view + separate bedroom + staff always helpful via WhatsApp + everything is clean, beautiful villa Our hopefully helpful likes/info for others: + road is crazy steep but still manageable even with a stroller (remember you can instantly use your pool when arriving at the top ;)) + there is a helpful manual with all kinds of restaurants that deliver food to the villa. No extra charge for delivery so you pay the same prices as in the restaurants. Delivery always smooth within 20-30 minutes max, also for breakfast. + the villa offers a taxi service with reasonable prices (although Ko Tao standards are higher). 250 Baht to Sairee area. + scooters can be rented directly at the property - so no need to find one somewhere else. + contrary to other comments: mosquitos absolutely manageable, not more than in Sairee. No snakes or whatever, just some cute geckos!

NetherlandsAs said by others the villa is located on a hill and can only be accessed through a VERY steep climb. You are completely dependent on a taxi service (with pretty high prices for Thai standards) or a scooter (which we would not recommend since driving on Koh Tao is dangerous and the scooters are all 150cc motorcycles). It is also possible to walk to Sairee Beach - the walk down will take about 15 mins, the way back up about 20 (but the walk will be a challenge if you are not fit). Moreover, the villa is equipped with 2 AC units which are located in the bedroom and the livingroom. Due to the poor electrical network on the island, only 1 of them can be used at the same time. This makes you choose between a cool living area of a cool bedroom.
Very pretty pool villa with one of the best views on Koh Tao. The villa is modern and well maintained, with a large living room and kitchen together with a large bathroom and bedroom. Both the living room and the bedroom are facing the pool as well as the view. The bathroom provides a large shower and double sink. The living room is well-equipped with a smart TV, large sofa and speaker set for music streaming. The kitchen provides some complimentary drinks as well as a minibar. The surroundings are very quiet and you feel like you are staying in the jungle. The hosts are very kind and helpful with answering questions or giving you tips. The villa is also cleaned every day. We very much enjoyed our stay!

United KingdomThe villa is very high up on the hills so it's a little difficult to get to by foot - we ended up renting a bike which made it easier.
Great views, easy access to the centre, private & quiet. The team were also very responsive and helpful - was easy to arrange taxis to the pier even at very early in the morning (7AM).

The property was Amazing and the view incredible. We stayed here for a portion of our honeymoon and it was perfect. The staff were incredibly helpful with day trips and any transportation we needed. Due to the amazing views the property is up a steeper hill but we found it very manageable getting around with a taxi or a bike

PolandBeautiful view from the villa, nice decor. The staff was very helpful, very communicative (always quickly responding to all of our questions, giving tips). The only downside was the access to property (very, I mean, very steep entrance) and some ants inside the villa, which seems quite normal taking into account the property is located inside the jungle. We recommend it especially for the beautiful view in the morning!

Wow this property is absolutely incredible… The view of Sairee Beach from the property is just mind blowing - absolutely stunning!! The staff are so friendly and accommodating, assisting us with taxis to and from the property and also provided us with a seamless bike rental service. As other reviews say, the pool villas are on a steep hill but how else are you going to get those incredible views?! The bike we rented from the property was very new and had plenty of power to get up the hill with two of us on it. If you are comfortable on bikes you will have no issue driving all the way to the top of the hill. The villa itself is just outstanding. Really beautiful inside, very spacious, with brilliant amenities. The pool is huge and nice and deep. So relaxing just chilling out at these pool villas. Regarding location - Koh Tao is so small everything feels like a 10 minute bike ride away. Sairee beach is only a 5 minute drive or less. Thank you so much to the kind and friendly staff at Koh Tao Heights Pool Villas for making our stay unforgettable!!

AustraliaThe villas are located very high up a steep, winding hill. Not many independent taxi services are keen to drive up to the villas. There are stairs up and down, which are fun and thematic enough, however there is no railing. I enjoyed and embraced this element to the villa, as Koh Tao itself is so isolated and the experience was incredible and so close to the action. However, I wouldn't recommend this to immobile or elderly travellers.
Absolutely incredible experience. Koh Tao Heights has set the standard for holiday experiences. I stayed in Villa Horizon, which was immaculate. The pool is even cleaner than in the pictures and the view is breathtaking. The location itself is extremely intimate too, set overlooking the busy Sairee beach in complete silence, high above and surrounded by rainforest. The views from the bathroom and bedroom also add to this experience, where I often saw animals journeying through the trees outside. I would highly recommend bringing a portable speaker too as the accoustics are great and it will be hard to annoy distant neighbours. Best of all is the office team located at the base of the private villa complex. They were available on WhatsApp and provided me with so much helpful assistance! They helped book ferry's, arrange tours, and provided details for their taxi driver who was cheap and very professional (and drives up to your villa)! You are also left with heaps of menus for food delivery options and the team provide cleaners and laundry service on a daily basis. Incredible!

IsraelThe check-in took a long time (the office was closed, even though we arrived at the open hours) and we waited for about 20 minutes on a hot day, after that we needed to climb on foot all the way to the villa- (and it was so hot and thought and the girls didn't offer a ride or even water).. Besides the unpleasant beginning, everything was wonderfully!
The pool and the view are amazing! The villa is perfect, with all the little details.. We had a great time there.
