Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United Arab EmiratesThe carpet on the room level. It is not easy to roll suitcases on carpet. The guest has to transfer to different elevator to get to the room. The gym is too small. The gym needs renovation. For fitness person like me, spacious gym is a must during my stay. The equipments are too close to each other. There is basically no personal space to work out.

AustraliaThe bathrooms are unsafe. The shower is in the bath and it is in safe to climb over the side of the bath to get in. Getting out is more difficult and the floor is very slippery. The tap is also complex.

Staff, check-in, concierge, waiters were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The high floors provide good views. Food quality and choice were great, and I've never had such an extravagant breakfast buffet!

Hong KongWhen entering the room, we found that it was a smaller and lower grade room, being different from what we had booked. After investigation, the reception staff explained that the error was recorded in the system with unknown reason, and changed the room for us and apologized with a welcome drink as compensation.

Great location, close to Sala Daeng and Silom stations, connecting to both train lines. Very close to Lumphini Park and there is a shopping mall nearby which operates well into the night (it may be 24 hours but I am not sure). Lovely breakfast with a good selection even for a Muslim traveller. Had a minor issue with my room which Maintenance addressed within the hour, even though it was midnight.

Switzerland- our booking was for a room with two double beds, which turned out to be two single beds. We found the information on the booking.com website somewhat misleading - why not simply call it a twin room? - as we had a late-night flight back to Europe we wanted to keep our room until the evening - this cost us half a daily room rate just for the few extra hours
- nice, modern design, extra space (sofa, small table, chair) - excellent location - great buffet breakfast with lots of choices (incl. Japanese, Chinese dishes) - reliable wifi, enough wall sockets, good lighting - swimming pool

United KingdomNothing really - the hotel is being refurbished, I didn’t hear any noise.
The location is excellent. Close to a sky train station and a metro station (5 mins walk) so Bangkok is yours to explore! Plenty of places to eat locally too (street food and restaurants). The breakfast here is excellent, so much choice and a really chilled experience, not frantic and chaotic as some hotels can be. The staff are friendly and efficient. it’s my first choice hotel for Bangkok.

Singaporethe taxi called by the hotel to send me to the airport wanted that I pay him B1000 which I thought it’s outrageous. he later lowered to B600 but left me in a public multi storey carpark where I had to walk via a link way to the airport itself! this certainly left a dent to my otherwise good trip.
