The hotel doesn’t seem to monitor who enters the hotel at night time/early morning. Unfortunately on two occasions the room next door to us brought back people who were not guests at the hotel. They were screaming, shouting and playing loud music from 3:30am until 06:00am!! We did call reception at the time to inform them but nothing appeared to happen. The following morning after having two horrific nights sleep, we asked if it was possible to move rooms. We spoke to two different reception staff regarding this (who were both extremely rude and not accommodating). The first one named Nicky muttered ‘oh my god’ when we asked to move rooms and the second one who I didn’t catch her name laughed in our faces when we explained the room next door had a party with people who weren’t staying at the hotel. We did eventually manage to move rooms but at a cost, our room was downgraded to a smaller room, with twin beds pushed together and only a shower. I understand the staff have no control over other people being disrespectful but when we asked if we could move rooms it almost became us being the problem. The hotel staff also don’t enforce a no smoking policy around the pool area, there is designated smoking areas but guests are allowed to smoke cigarettes and weed around the pool beside other guests and young families.

Lovely hotel very close to Karon beach. Short walking distance to the beach, 7/11, laundry services, bars and restaurant’s. The staff kindly upgraded us on check in too a superior room. A lovely large room with a king size bed, bath and shower. Lovely buffet breakfast which we paid for every morning (150 baht per person). Egg station available, where they cook fresh eggs. The staff at breakfast were very friendly and accommodating. Large pool area with sun loungers along with a roof top bar and pool. The hotel provides a happy hour on cocktails between 2-4pm (buy one get one free) costing 190 baht.

Unfortunately guests would leave small bags of garbage outside there rooms or at the elevator entrance and with the heat,the smell was bad.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff were always upbeat and always made you feel welcome. Front desk always greeted you with a smile and kindness. Betty always made me feel special and always answered any questions I had. I enjoyed the lower pool area,but unfortunately the parents of the babies didn't always have them in diapers for hygiene of the other guests.

on 1-2 days the water pressure was not great and only lukewarm water, but they fixed the problem. I don't like that style of toilet and without water hose, reminds me of public toilet, but that's just my personal preferece.

Nice big and clean room with pool view. Hotel in a quiet neighborhood not too far from the beach. big desk to get some work done. friendly and attentive staff.

The mattress was way to hard.

Chanalai hillside was a beautiful hotel, I had a direct pool access room which was convenient. The bathroom was amazing with a separate bathtub and toilet and rain shower were in separate cubicles with glass doors. The bed was very hard so I ended up folding the Doona over as a makeshift mattress topper. My room being a direct pool access had a step off 5he balcony into the pool. The pool has a little bar and attached to the restaurant. I would give it 10/10 except for the mattress and I asked room service not to fix up the room as I'd only been there 1 day but when I came back from my walk she had done it anyway and mixed my clean clothes with my dirty one which had been on the floor which she had folded and put back. I also missed out on my hotel souvenirs as the receptionist could not understand me. Can't wait to come back to this beautiful place.

Wow wow wow!! What an amazing experience at this Hotel. Staff were all amazing and friendly. Hotel is beautiful and clean. Our friends celebrated their birthdays while we were staying at the Hotel and the Hotel went above and beyond for their birthdays. Highly recommend!

Reception except for Anna, no one understood you. One night I simple called from my room for a bottle opener and was told call the restaurant. Then put back through to reception. I then waited no one got back to me so no bottle opener was provided.

The breakfast was below average with very little variety. The eggs and pastries were the best option. Zan and Non were excellent and if not for them the stay would be rated lower. The rooms had mould on curtains and in the rooms too. I would invest in some humidifiers to address this issue.

One small thing - upon checking into our room it was very hot in the room and took almost 24 hours to cool off and for the refrigerator to get chilled. Small thing but after a full day of travel from Japan through China to Phuket and it was very hot outside - it would have been nice if the room had been a little cooler or offered a fan.

The staff, food, location, POOL, all amazing. We love Chanalai. Zan is the best bartender and Mook and all the ladies at the front desk were awesome!

I had the most delightful stay at Chanalai Hillside Resort! From the stunning decor to the impeccable service, every aspect exceeded my expectations, especially the top roof pool !!! The room was spacious, elegantly furnished, and equipped with all the amenities I could possibly need (even a sewing kit). The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel truly welcomed throughout my stay. The location was perfect, allowing me to easily explore the beach. Netflix is encluded!
