Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Lovely hosts, very friendly and helpful. Laundry and taxi service available, tasty breakfast made to order (even at 14:00 when we slept in). Great location, 25 min walk to Chaweng night market, 100m from 7-11, the beach is across the road. Comfy beds and clean rooms, good air con. The fridge was a nice surprise. Quiet pool with jacuzzi.

CanadaWe thought it would be helpful to have a night stand on both sides of the bed, however, that may just be a personal preference.
The staff that run the accomodations (Miss Nana and Pookie) were very kind, friendly and always willing to help - ie) booking taxis, scooter rental and general information that we asked about. The location was great as long as you aren't wanting to stay right on the beach. 7 eleven was only about 100 metres away and stocks most of what you'll need. Cross the street from 7 eleven and in about another 100 metres you'll be on the beach. We walked everyday to Samui Central which is about a 15 minute walk. There's a large outdoor swimming pool as well as jacuzzi tub at the back of the accommodations which was great to be able to relax by with lounge chairs as well. We didn't have breakfast at the accommodations as we don't always eat early.

United KingdomNo restaurant like listed. Chairs were not wood like the picture - but plastic so they were incredibly hot when you sat on them. Shower was more of a ‘wet room’. Bar is also out of action forever so it seems.
Staff were so so lovely and caring. Pool area was really good to just chill by. Incredible Mediterranean restaurant literally at the end of the road and next door to 7-11 for essentials.

NamibiaIt's a basic place, nothing fancy but we were happy
The people are friendly and helpful but they could hardly speak English. Chaweng in general is more expensive but we still wanted to go there, so we looked for something cheaper. That is what we got which we were happy for. For someone who has higher expectations this is not the right place. On the other hand it was clean and very quiet which to me is very important

Czech RepublicThere was quite a lot of mosquitoes outside, but it is understandable as bungalows are in a garden and there is small water basin with frogs. I liked those sounds in the night, but repellent is necessary
Location was in walking distance of 10-15 minutes from the center of Chaweng. Just in front of hotel is 7-11 non stop opened shop. Staff is really very friendly and helpful.

RomaniaEverything looked perfect for around 28EUR / night that I paid but, there is a big but, I don't like to give such a low score but hopefully it will help them to improve. First very important this is not a resort ! It is a mix of apartments and bungalows together with the family itself which lives there and OTHER thai families living just next to the area, and separated by a very low fence. So you will be there kind of mix with Thai families ! The problem is that my bungalow was just 5 meters away from a small house where thai people were living, and they were cooking and washing their clothes on that fence and then throwing all the dirty water in the bungalow area next to mine. Since the bungalow is just made entirely of wood you could here all these cutting vegetables, washing dishes and throwing the dirty water like it is was sewage next to the bungalow, and this happened every single night. I am asking why do I want to rent a bungalow and not a cheaper apartment ? Is because of privacy and quiet and intimacy that you think you might get, which there was missing totally, even if it was like 50% discount. Another problem was with the guy cleaning the garden he was coming every evening around 6-7PM when is getting darker and starting cutting the trees and cleaning around with a flash light since it was too dark to see, and so making the stay on the porch really uncomfortable due to so much noise. I have tried to explain to the host the problem, they said that they would talk to the guy, but not much changed, even though they were smiling and very polite, from what I see if they decide to clean the garden in the night they won't change their mind. As I noticed for other bungalows, they are quite close to each other and since you can hear pretty much everything it might create issues if other guests are coming to nearby bungalow. They also provide water, as I said is good and polite but it is purified water not mineral water, if it matters for you.
While I was there I took a bungalow, it was like half price discount, the whole area is a big garden very nice trees and well maintained, and has a row of bungalows as well as individual apartments. The host was very kind and nice and help me with all facilities, cleaning when asking to clean and got a tower for the beach, and 2 bottle of waters every day...so what went wrong...read please below !
