Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe TV picture in the bedrooms was quite grainy (we were trying to catch some Olympics coverage!), but we honestly weren't in enough to watch much anyway. And just make sure you cover and put away any food due to the kitchen being outdoors. We stupidly left a loaf of bread on the dining room table on our first night there and some creature or other had helped itself while we slept!
What a lovely villa! The 3 bedrooms all had ensuite bathrooms and were really comfortable (and air conditioned). The kitchen area was covered but outdoors, which added to the charm, and the pool was perfect for cooling off in the very hot, sticky weather. Having a washing machine was definitely a bonus too but hang your washing under cover due to the frequent heavy downpours! Our host Soonthorn was so friendly and helpful - he was there to greet us on arrival and talk to us about the property. The Thai desserts which had been prepared to welcome us were delicious! Soonthorn arranged for a driver/tour guide to meet us who booked for us to go for an unforgettable experience caring for elephants at Mae Taeng Elephant Camp and Clinic, about an hour's drive north of the city, where we made vitamin balls for the elephants, fed and washed them. The house's location is amazing, right in the heart of the walled old town, so lots of beautiful temples and restaurants were right on our doorstep. We also enjoyed exploring Nimman, a short walk out of the walled city, where I actually managed to find an amazing roastery - Roast8try Flagship Store, who serve the most delicious decaf coffee! (Decaf isn't readily available in independent coffee shops in Thailand). Doi Suthep temple just outside the city is also well worth a visit. All in all a fabulous stay and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Baan Wassana to friends and family.

AustraliaNothing really.
The location of Baan Wassana is perfect - right in the middle of the old town and walking distance from most things. Host met us at the property with a little snack (a real treat) and was extremely responsive to every request we made. Would highly recommend this place. We loved it.

AustraliaKitchen can run short of you want to cook for real for all the people the house can fit.
Soonthorn’s property was the best place we stayed in around Thailand, it’s great! Location is superb, central but quiet. The place also has a bit of everything even if it could be seen as small at times. And lastly, the hosts are extremely kind and helpful! So I don’t think I can recommend this place more. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m ever back to Chiang Mai! Thanks for the kindness Soonthorn 🙏🏻

GermanyThe only wish I would have is to be able to manually turn on/off the whirlpool. We didnt use it most of the time.
Its a cute oasis in the middle of town. Perfect to relax after a tour. Soonthorn was very kind and helpful in all situations (lost wallet).

Hong KongWorth noting the property has a baby bassinet. Probably ok for babies up to sitting stage.
This is a gorgeous villa in a brilliant location - absolute gem. Location; this is just next to the main temple (Wat Chedi Luang) in the very centre of the city. There’s a 7/11 just round the corner and being central, no shortage of restaurants. The Sunday Walking Market is on the main road to the property, and other markets are walking distance. Amenities; great pool - it has a swim jet too so you can get some exercise. Lots of beds, TVs in every room and Netflix, fully stocked kitchen and fridge, towels, everything you need. Other points to note; single storey, quiet street, use Grab for taxis from the front door. Soonthorn was a brilliant host - when something small went wrong (not the fault of the property) he was contactable and responsive. Great service all round.

A perfect location, very nice home in the heart of old town Chiang Mai. With wonderful beds, bathrooms, garden and cute pool complete with floating duck! The owners gave us the warmest welcome. And when I forgot an item when we left that was important to me, they did everything they could to return it to me. The house is very well cared for. With love. Makes you feel like you live in your own luxurious Thai-home. With two of the important temples as your next door neighbour.

AustraliaThe service was phenomenal! The host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. From organising affordable drivers so we don’t get ripped off to welcoming us with Thai dessert on arrival. And that was just the tip of the iceberg!! We were greeted with lovely souvenirs and was beautifully surprised to find our day trip photo print for us on our return. Can’t rave anymore about this place❤️👍🏼 will definitely come back with family and friends again🙏🏼🙏🏼
