Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SerbiaBad bed. The board under the mattress was cracked, so sleeping was uncomfortable and uneven. A big minus for accommodation, which is the basic and primary thing about accommodation.
Vending machine for food and drinks. Pleasant staff, and a reserved wake-up call.

PolandPrivate bathroom is located between 2 rooms, so you don't know if it's only for your own use or if the neighbour will be using it as well. It's locked by a key, but you can open it from your room's side and close, you have no control on the other door, thus you feel a bit insecure if the neighbour is not going to open the door from his side. It didn't happen, but there is a potential... The location is quite distant.
The room was clean, beds are ok. Quick check-in, good for 1 night.

GermanyThe staff did not speak english, so it was very hard to communicate. One needs to leave the key in the reception all the time when one leaves, but getting it back is hard when the person doesn't understand numbers in English. We paid for a private bathroom, but our bathroom had two entrances, one for our room and one for the room adjacent. Now, I am not sure if the other room got a key, but this was not explained to us. When I was in the toilet, someone knocked on the other door and it was uncomfortable. On the topic of bathroom. We received two tiny towels and that was all we had to use for shower, face, feet, etc. There was also no shampoo provided. Just a tiny towel, soap and a plastic cup. Finally, there is a series of transparent blocks above the main door, and this means that light comes through to your room whenever someone is walking in the hallway. Since there are shared toilets outside for the other rooms, this can be a bit annoying.
The price was good, and it is in a very quiet neighborhood. So you get good sleep. The room had a lot of place in the wardrobe to keep your things. The kitchen is also quite nice and useful, and there is one in each floor.

HungaryNot all floors have toilets and bathrooms - mine didn't, so I had to go up one floor to use the toilet and shower. There is no elevator. This could be problematic to some who have difficulty taking the stairs - and makes the place absolutely non-recommendable to people who use a wheelchair. As mentioned above, the location is rather far from city centre, not recommended for those who come for city sightseeing.
I stayed in Bratislava for less than a day, but needed a place where I can stay the night. I chose Ubytovňa Nobelova because of its location and price, and I have nothing to complain about. The place seems to be a workers' hotel. My room was clean, bright and (once I found out that I can turn the heating on - it was off when I arrived) pleasantly warm. The receptionist spoke Hungarian, so check-in was super easy. For my needs the location was great, but the place is rather far from the city centre, so I can't recommend it to those who are coming to Bratislava for sightseeing - there are tram and bus stops in the nearby, but it still takes quite some time to get to the city centre (the main train station is approx. 30 mins by public transport, and a full hour by foot). There is a train station in the nearby, but international trains don't seem to stop there. There is a grocery store just a few minutes from the hostel, which was open even on Sunday before 8AM - this was a pleasant surprise.

United KingdomIt is a fair bit away from the city centre, but we don't mind a walk and using public transport so it didn't bother us. We got the tram in from Vinohrady for a 1.30 each right into town, they come often and are easy to navigate. There was no lift, trekking 4 floors with our luggage wasn't great, so not super accessible for folks with kids or access needs. The "kitchenette" was a kettle, microwave and fridge - but no cups, plates, cuttlery, or anything else. The staff gave us two plastic cups and two paper ones when we asked so we could make coffee (we had our own, it wasn't supplied). Very very basic rooms, but hey it was significantly cheaper than alternatives closer to town, and it's perfect to lay your head down for a night or two. If you can't improvise in terms of microwave cooking and equipment, you'll have to eat out or grab a microwave meal from the vending machine downstairs. The distance from town wasn't an issue for us, but could easily be pretty far for lots of folks. Area is safe though so don't panic like we did initially.
The hotel is pristine clean, everywhere. It's in a really quiet and nice residential area (good and clean kids play areas and nice cars etc) and felt safe and at ease there. You have to leave your keys at reception when you go, which is odd, but the reception is 24hrs so it doesn't make a difference really. Local shops were a bit away but walkable. Google maps will take you round a weird route (through fields, brush, over old and new train tracks) but gets you to a mall, cinema, lidl etc. The area also smells like chocolate due to the factory near by!
