The hotel advertised AC on Booking.com but there was no AC on the first three floors. However, the manager did bring us each a fan to help get us through a very warm night.

Hotel Kuria is a charming, traditional hotel very close to the main square in Banská Bystrica. My party of six stopped there from just one night on our way from Cracow to Budapest, booking three rooms. We enjoyed our brief stay, which included dinner in the attached restaurant. The beds were very comfortable, and the hotel has its own free parking lot, which was a welcome relief after staying in cities where parking is often a bit of a challenge.

It is not their fault but there is a very noisy place next door with a DJ in the street. Luckily, they stop at 22:00.

The only thing was the climb (with luggage) up to reception and then down again to our room on the 1st floor ! There was a lift for baggage but it only went from the 1st level

The location was perfect - only a short walk to the main square of the Old Town. The hotel itself was full of surprises - like the enormous size of the double room with its domed ceiling and ornate cornices! We could look out towards the castle walls and hear the musical chimes of the clock nearby.

The room booked was not the room we initially received. it was much smaller and had no air conditioning. Since it was 95f/35c out, we made certain that our room had a/c, so was disappointed. That said, we went to registration and staff was helpful and understanding and immediately switch our room and rest of stay was fine after that. If you use Booking.com, be sure to message the property to confirm the room you receive.

Perfect location in center with easy parking. Breakfast was basic, but a good value for the price. There was some confusion on the room we selected but was able to change and upgrade to the room we reserved. Other than that, all went well and we likes the historical hotel. Only stayed one night which was perfect for this type of place. While checkout was 10am, we asked in advance of our stay if we could leave the car in the lot until 2pm and they agreed. That was very helpful for us and much appreciated. Staff are registration and breakfast were very nice and helpful. Photos are the view from the window in the room. Can't beat the location!

Very many (often unexpected) steps - also in the bathroom. Quite dark in the evening in the room (very poor led bulbs). Quite poor breakfast - all standard, no extra preparation.

Nice, atmospheric hotel very close to the main square. Interesting local touches both in the rooms and in the corridors.

I have stayed at this hotel 4 times now whilst on business in the area its location is perfect, the facilities are very good and breakfast is very good Thank you for getting up so early to let me out in the middle of the night See you again soon

The bed was two twins pushed together which isn't my favorite. Also, the blinds were really hard to work with and it's definitely not a blackout situation.

I only stayed one night. Location was great and the room was nicely decorated. View was gorgeous.

My room was fine but my friends didn't have airconditioning and it was very hot.

The breakfasts were excellent and the staff very attentive to my needs. Brought extra coffee and kept replenishing stocks. Nice breakfast room with open windows and view down to main square. Lovely location right in centre of town.

No kettle in room - there should be! Watch your step going around the place quite a few potential trip hazards - steep steps, slightly raised floor strips under doors - take care. Breakfast generally good although orange juice wasn't that nice

Interesting hotel, might seem a little old fashioned at first glance, but actually quite well presented. Walls covered in all manor of plates pictures and other strange ornaments. So plenty to look at! Well sited for the main street/Square of this lovely town. Staff pleasant. Room was comfortable with good WiFi reception and good powerful shower.

They were able to accommodate dietary requirements for gluten free options easily and had also dairy free milk option which was very much appreciated. Coffee was very good.
