Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BulgariaYou need to have in mind that the rooms/studios/apartments are situated, basically, within the restaurant space on the upper floor. During busy nights it's not unlikely to have people dining at a table just near your door. Not necessarily cons, depends on how adventurous one feels. To light-sleepers and the ones that prefer more privacy, that could be an issue. Not really an issue for us, as we were busy exploring around, getting up early and going to sleep late. Online communication could be improved, but that didn't turn out to be an issue to us either.
Spacious place, bedroom including one double and two single beds. Located in the very heart of the old town. Friendly staff. Easy check-in and check-out in reasonable hours (have to do it at the bar in the restaurant though, no separate reception for that). Restaurant itself was really good too.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaThe street is quite noisy from early in the morning until late in the night, so opening windows was not an option. But therefore location is great in the middle of everything.
We liked the ethno Balkan style of rooms which trys to revive old Bosnian tradition in every way. Pretty cool place for 2024.

HungaryThe payment: the restaurante was really busy, we tried to pay three times on arrival day, but could not. The host told us, that she will come around 07:00-07:30 in the morning and we can do the payment. We were in a hurry, we had to wait until 08:00 when we could pay to an other lady, but she could except only cash payment. According to booking site it should be possible to check out from 07:00 and pay also with card. Otherwise you should correct this information. The other thing is with the double bed. There is a double bed with two separated mattresses. I would recommend to use a double sized mattress topper, because the gap between the two mattrasses is inconvenient.
Located in the center, everything is in walking distance, clean, nice design. Equipped kitchen and bathroom.

HungaryThere was a working site next to our window. It was a bit noisy. But it’s not the apartments fault. The city government are refurbishing/renovating the buildings.
The location is around a very nice area. The food and the drinks are great! The staff is friendly

New ZealandWifi and lounge lights should have been working in the ground floor apartment.
We were upgraded to the bigger top floor apartment because the wifi and the lounge lights did not work in the ground floor apartment. We were just lucky that the top floor apartment was free as having to step outside and go in to the restaurant to get wifi would have been a pain. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Restaurant food was very good.

United StatesAn option to make your own coffee in the room is a nice touch, but it would be even better if it included coffee without milk--some people cannot consume milk or simply don't like their coffee with milk.

PolandThe location is good, but we didn't realize we actually had to leave the car on the street and walk a short distance to the hotel. Happily we had our room not on the street side, so we had no problem with the weekend noise))

AustriaVery nice appartment on the upper floor of a very authentic, bosnian restaurant. Every detail has been placed with love and one should not miss the chance of a great meal at the restaurant. Many cosy coffee-shops, restaurants and bars in the trendy quarter of Maribor-Lent. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely come back!

SlovakiaThe apartment was located in an adjacent building (not in the building with the restaurant), while it was on the ground floor. Since the apartment had no ventilation, air conditioning, and a large floor-to-ceiling window with regard to the ground floor, it could not be opened in any way, because at night anyone would have directly entered the living area of the apartment, there was bad, unbreathable air in apartment. I was only lucky that the given August night was not tropical, but cooled slightly, otherwise it would not have been possible to sleep in the apartment at all. Several times during the night I had to open the window directly to the street and ventilate. The accommodation operator should inform the potential guest about this fact and also about the fact that there is a large construction site right in front of the apartment window (massive reconstruction of the square with the construction of underground garages) and there has been construction activity and noise and dust since the early morning. If I had this information in advance, I would have booked another apartment in the building, which is not on the ground floor (where the window cannot be opened at all and the apartment has no ventilation, air conditioning) or completely different accommodation.
In the building is restaurant with very tasty Balkan cuisine at good prices

Polandcental localisation, few steps from the Main square. no car access to the street - many restaurants and tables outside. the apartments are above the restaurant Bascarsija - we were given the keys at the bar ;-) we had nice big room with small kitchen annex and big bathroom. I didnt hear the noises from restaurant when I closed the bedroom doors. we had a nice night and morning walk through the city center as we were so close

LithuaniaAC didn't work. Check-in is in the restaurant counter itself, which is not noted in the booking. The process took some time, as you check in with the restaurant staff and they have a lot to do, so you have to wait for some time to get the keys. Also you have to go through the restaurant with your luggedge, which is quite disturbing...
Interesting experience of living just upside the restaurant. Big spaciuos room, all necessary equipment (really dated, but the price is adequate). Just in the city center. You can go down the stairs and you are in the restaurant.

HungaryThe fridge in the appartment was a bit old. And it does not closed properly. The room on the street side is a bit noisy on weekends, but on the other side it was not disturbing.
The appartment has a great location in the City Center, everyting in a walking distance. The parking was easy near the church and free on weekends. The place has a unique charm. We really liked the cosy design. The appartment was comfortable and clean. We had not tried the Restaurant below. But the food looked delicious.
