Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

EgyptThe space is very very tight, whether the room or the common areas. Also, it was not comfortable that you have to pass by the common bathrooms to get to the female bathroom.
Best thing about it was the location which was more than amazing, very central and close to multiple station and you can walk to a lot of places. Everything else was okay I guess, good for the price.

New ZealandBreakfast was very basic but free so can’t complain. The bathroom is shared male and female and no shoes allowed which I thought was a bit gross but it was cleaned very regularly.
Perfect location in the CBD for our short trip to Singapore. Comfy rooms, good AC and there are good lockable storage areas for each bed.

VietnamThe staff made me feel like i was STUPID for committing a mistake regarding the keyroom. I apologized several times and he said "it's a common sense". So yeah, i felt bad but he still allowed me to stay for another night without paying extra.
Number 1 is the cleanliness. The bathroom, pantry and the bedrooms are always kept tidy.

AustraliaThe air conditioning in the room couldn't be controlled so you would need to contact staff if you wanted it changed. During the night I would often get too hot or too cold, but I wasn't going to contact staff in the middle of the night about it. There is a 'common area' but it is mainly a place to work and not conducive to really meeting other people.
The hostel is a lot cleaner than I expected, so that was a great start. The staff were friendly and everything was clean. The location is very central and close to hawker centres and public transport. Great value for money considering it is in Singapore.

GermanyThey only provided very light blankets. At night it was pretty cold due to the AC. Didn’t really like how the bathroom/female showers were designed: Barely space to hang up stuff to not get wet. It was totally doable though.
The location was pretty convenient, the beds were very confortable and even two pillows were provided. It’s also nice that there was complimentary breakfast with three different kinds of cereal, toast and different spreads, as well as chocolate milk.
