Limited parking space at the property. It was difficult to locate the room/apartment. There was no staff. The property needs maintenance.

I had not received the manager's message explaining how to make the check in, since you have to do it independently. Even though I had asked with messages. I had to make it by myself by asking the people who were there on site where I can to find the key of my room. I had booked the bad lines and I they sent me the IBAN to make the transfer. Bat it is an international bank transfer only and has its costs! I had sent several messages to the hostel to understand if there was another method to pay, I sent the remander, but I had never received a response, I was ignored! In the end I made the transfer and for 20 euros of bad lines I paid 36 euros of bank transfer from Italy! It would have been almost better to buy a new bed set! Please, provide to change this questions and give the possibiliti to pay in other way not only with bank transfer! In the bathroom on the first floor there was always no soap to wash your hands. The courtyard is very nice, but to bad that the chairs and the plastic tables outside were probably never washed, they were very dirty. The central courtyard needs cleaning.

The location of the hostel is great, very convenient and cheap for Visby. Close to the ferry. There is a supermarket nearby. This is the historical structure and charm of the former prison.

Hard to take your baggage to the upper floors. The soap to wash your hands in the bathroom felt extremely diluted and when I told reception I was told "that's the one they buy, unfortunately I have no choice". There was one common bathroom per floor, and the two showers were in the same room as the bathroom, meaning if one of these was in use, it blocked all the rest. The baggage room is not safe, it's outside the building and it just has a code.

The room was as advertised, a jail cell pretty much. I actually liked it as I expected it to be somewhat of an experience. The bed was OK and the location is great.

Really difficult to get in touch with the staff. Took three-four days for them to reply to a message. I asked for a confirmation on towels and linnen, which one has to order extra at a small cost. As the message was not read in time, I had to spend the first night in a small, not very comfortable sleeping bag that I brought with me in fear of this bad follow-up from the hotel. Also very difficult to get a hold of the staff during the stay, as the reception was not manned at the times it should have been, and staff most of the time was not reachable by phone. This really ruined my experience.

The location is perfect. Rooms are OK. Shared bathroom and toilet works nice, not to many rooms sharing.

There was no one at reception at late night when we arrived so it was extremely difficult to find our room as there are cell, stuga and one more area with same room numbers. Our was stuga 5 and I was trying to find it in the hostel cell 5. There was no one to show direction to stuga 5. We were roaming around the hostel to find our place. There should be more clear direction to the room in the key envelope if someone is arriving late in night.

The wifi was so bad, I had to buy extra data for 200 kr to be able to do my work. I think that's false advertisement and should change it to "no wifi". The room is cold in the autumn, the airflow was bad and there were no curtains so it got too bright if you need a nap during the day. Too many people sharing one fridge, I don't recommend for a longer stay. The doors always slammed really loudly which could be heard from inside the rooms. The bathrooms were booths, so you can hear everything...

I think the floors and bathrooms were cleaned everyday and it was nice that no cleaning was required before leaving (I think).

at my second night there was a group of people that checked in and the noise was barely tolerable. the noise only stoped when they left the hostel after two days.

The noise canceling is awful, and I can clearly hear people talking outside the building as well as road traffics. The room is quite dark and somewhat humid, even at noon. Because this hostel is originally a prison, so room/cell doors are quite small. I won't recommend this hostel to anyone taller than183 cm or 6'.

The price is very fair for what it offers. It takes only 7 min walk to reach this hostel from the ferry harbor. The custodian is quite responsible and the shared restroom is usually clean. No social activities and most guests are surprisingly seniors.

Some of the very few parkingspots outside were turned into some kind storage-place for old caravans and porta pottis. Unnecessary when there where so poorly with parkingspots in the city.

Great location and fun how they had saved the prison-feeling. Nice restaurant and bar outside with a different band playing almost every night.
