Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IcelandThe weekend disco... this was notified AFTER booking. On Friday (and presumably Saturday), it runs to 3am and it is so loud that the room shakes and the door rattles. The room was also weirdly dark - very low power bulbs. I had to use the torch on my phone to find anything in the wardrobe and the full length mirror by the door is pointless because it is so dark.
The hotel is great on weekdays; comfortable beds with plenty cushions; kept clean by the staff; generous breakfast. Östersdund is also a lovely town to visit.

SwedenNot specifically ‘about the property’ but with out reservation through booking.com, we requested a specific room. On arrival at the property, we were told that the room we selected was not a ‘dog room’ and that the hotel knew this was an issue and had raised it with booking.com. So we were put in a smaller ‘dog room’ than we had reserved. That was a disappointment — but a reservation problem and both a hotel problem.
The staff were wonderful, helpful, excellent English and delightful conversations made it memorable. The lobby area and seating was large, quiet and comfortable. Our dog was welcomed. Parking was easy, out the back and not busy when we visited in late September. O’Leary’s was a good choice one night for an easy dinner, even if not our fave restaurant (because of all the sports tvs!) BUT the food was good and we enjoyed it. Breakfast was served there—more convenience.

AustraliaThe massage ,spa, and the vibe After not being able to find a gym that was actually open, the reception staff were very helpful and directed me to a run around the lake. This was absolutely amazing. Even if you're not a runner,a walk will be just as wonderful!

United Kingdomit was REALLY noisy at night and the rooms were very hot, no aircon, so having the window open was essential. Our room was on the front of the hotel and with the taxi rank right across from the hotel it meant there was a LOT of noise which went on until 3am most mornings. Best to ask for a room on the back of the hotel!
Location is right on the edge of the town, next door to the main bus terminal and the main taxi station, a short walk to great restaurants, shops and bars. Hotel has a good sports bar restaurant next door, which is part of the hotel, there is also a lovely spa in the hotel.

NorwayAsk for a room in the back if you have a hard time sleeping. A sports pub, O'Leary, is in the same building and it can get loud at times.
You get the feeling that this is a spa hotel as soon as you enter the lobby. Soft light, soft music, the scent. It's all a part of the spa experience. The spa on the fourth floor is cozy, comfortable, relaxing and the bar has refreshments like fruit, cakes, ice cream, salads and a full bar. Floating around in the heated, outside pool in the rain is something everyone should experience. We visit once a year for a mother-daughter trip and look forward to our next stay as soon as we come home.

GermanyThe breakfast is good in general, but more vegetarian and vegan options would be appreciated, e.g hummus or other vegetarian/vegan spreads. Didn’t expect the club night to be that noisy in the rooms upstairs (for light sleepers)
Very friendly staff, perfect location and very good value for the money spend. Rooms towards the lake side with fantastic views.

AustraliaFolded away bunks in room made the room seem a little cramped, and top mattress seemed too ready to slide off the bed.
Comfortable room, nice furnishings. Bathroom with excellent amenities including a real bath. Mini fridge in the room was nice. Tea/coffee/cocoa always available in the guest lounge, which was also very comfortable - and included books and games. Great location.

PortugalThe lightning in the bedroom is really poor, specially in the bathroom. If you close the curtain to shower, you're showering in the dark because it covers the only light in there. The bathtub felt really insecure as well (not landed on the floor).

GermanyBreakfast was served in the adjacent pub which wasn’t the most pleasant atmosphere. Also no vegan options except for yoghurt. Poor quality coffee.
It’s a nice, slightly aged place. easy to reach by just a short walk from the train station, nice lobby area. I loved the spa (about 200SEK surcharge).

SwedenUncomfortable bed, it was broken, but we didn’t notice until we were packing and leaving!!! At reception they returned half of the amount of the reservation (we stayed 1 night only). Better to sleep in a high floor because there is a night club. Our room was in the first floor so it was difficult to sleep specially for our kids.
Location, clean, kind and polite everyone, delicious breakfast.

NorwayVery dark in the room. It’s almost impossible to find your clothes in a closet. Good that my husband brought a headlight 😅 The mirror in the bathroom distorts the image, so good luck to the ladies putting on makeup. There is exactly the same food every morning with not so many choices of warm meals at breakfast buffet. So you get a bit tired of eating the same food every morning if you stay for a long time.
Very good location. Cozy, clean hotel. Very nice Spa area with a very professional bartender and a beautiful view. Helpful and friendly staff.
