Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandWe travelled with our dog and the hotel itself accepts animals (for an extra charge). However, it is not possible to come with your dog to the Mueller cafe where the breakfast is served. For us it was not an issue as it was sunny and we could sit outside but what if the weather was bad? It would be good to at least inform the guests about this fact beforehand. In most European countries dogs are allowed without any issues to cafes and restaurants, so it came as a surprise to us. Also the buffet breakfast at the Mueller cafe was rather average (to say the least).
I really liked the interior design, very artistic and creative and the common space with a kitchen with tea, coffee and some sweets. The hotel is small, cosy and the location is great, in the very centre of Ystad, There is also a parking space nearby (not directly at the hotel, but a short walking distance).

United Kingdom- Found a silverfish is my room, probably because of the age of the building / Furniture. Not pleasant :( - Can hear people entering and leaving rooms, cleaning in the morning.
- Really beautiful room - Comfortable bed - Good location relative to everything else in Ystad - Games cabinet in lobby. I unfortunately tested positive for Covid during my stay here. This hotel ended up being a god send as a place for resting up / waiting for death :)

AustraliaOn a noisy street where the garbage collector made a terrible racket at 7am. Not having a decent cup to make a cup of tea the ones provided just held 2 mouthfuls of water.
The breakfast was in the cafe next door and the choices were adequate.

GermanyTo me, it made no difference but with its steep stairs to the hotel level on first floor - and unless I have overlooked a lift or the like - this hotel is not barrier-free. Being in the middle of the old town, there is no parking in immediate vicinity of the hotel but there is public parking (daytime fees apply) within approx. 200m/ yds distance.
This is a beautiful, well restored and well kept little hotel with tastefully appointed rooms and public spaces, located in the atmospheric old town of Ystad. Absolutely recommended!

SwedenGreat hotel right in the middle of the city, on the main shopping street. There was a parking lot close by (400m) called Norreport and parking there was 60 kr per 24 hours. We were very happy with our stay and we'll be back !

GermanyI would love to see the hotel thinking a bit more about their impact on the environment/sustainability. In my opinion it is not necessary to clean the room in between a two night stay and change towels etc. for example. I would have also preferred plant based alternatives for breakfast.
I liked the location and also the staff was nice.

FinlandThe hotel does not have parking, however, street parking was available nearby. Well, you can't get everything, can you?
When entering the room, or in our case the two bedroom apartment, we had a feeling that we are not in a hotel but in a home. This place is anything but a standard hotel which are similar to each other. The appartment was spacious and had everything we needed and more. The wifi worked well and the TV is big and modern. The couch for watching is comfortable. A plus for the big fridge. The room was silent and it was possible to make it completely dark, which we liked much. Breakfast is in the cafeteria next doors, the selection was good. The hotel is very well located next on the pedestrian area. Everything necessary is within the walking distance. No noisy bars in the vicinity, so the room is quiet. Check-in and check-out were handled electronically for us without any problems. For sure, I will check this place again when I return to Ystad.

AustraliaI loved everything about the place!
Wow! This has to be the most stylish hotel I’ve ever stayed in! It’s just beautiful! Such a pleasure to be there. I was upgraded from a small single room (very cute) to a double suite, which was just wonderful. There are so many thoughtful touches to make your stay comfortable. Aside from a good breakfast included at the cafe downstairs, there’s a microwave and tea/coffee making facilities in the hall. Ystad is a lovely town, and this little hotel is very centrally located. I might have to come back to Ystad so I can stay here again!

This place way exceeded my expectations, especially with the low price in mind. Friendly, helpful staff, wonderful interior, extremly comfy beds. You can help yourself with free coffe/tee/drinks at all times, there is a microwave oven and everything you could need. I loved the soap/schampoo/lotion in the bathroom. I strongly recommend a stay here for everyone visiting Ystad.
