Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SloveniaRoom was located on the ground floor so there was some noise coming from the street. Hotel is set in an old building, so the layout of the room was irregular, but this was not an issue.
Located in Gamla Stan, Stockholm`s Old Town. Most of sights within walking distance of the property. Places to eat and shop nearby. Good value for money for Stockhom. Perfect for few nights stay when visiting the city.

United KingdomI had to fight with the security door code a bit to get in and this made me wary of going out again in the evening in case I was locked out. A colleague of mine (unfortunately neither of us knew we had booked the same hotel as we were coming from different countries) later told me she could not get into the building when she arrived in the small hours and actually had to find another hotel. Pity.
I was overnighting before a work function that required me to catch a ferry - as it transpired the ferry was one minute walk from the hotel, which was excellent. Facilities were good - could make a cup of tea and have water. Bathroom was very clean. Comfortable stay. Thanks

The staff were very friendly and happy to help. The location was great, right in the middle of the Old Town. The rooms were clean and quiet.

FinlandI did not realize how stuffy it would get in the basement rooms. I thought itd be cooler than a normal room, since there would be no window to heat up the room through, but it was probably way warmer than the rooms above. One thing that left a very bad image is that the staff doesnt tell you that the room doors dont lock automatically, and once theyre opened, anyone can get in without a code unless you realize to lock it both inside and outside. it does not work like any normal door lock, the side of the door wont do anything. you need to press " * " on the lock every time you leave, or itll stay open. and inside, you must turn the lock once, so the colour turns red. This is very unintuitive compared to normal hotel doors, as anything normally only opens from the outside with a card, code, etc, unless set otherwise. Theres specific instruction on the door for how to type the code in, with "*" symbols before and after the code, but none to tell you how to lock it.... I dont think this is malicious, but the only reason i could even figure out how to lock it while inside is that my boyfriend is from the US, and these types of locks are more normal there (though pressing the * on the outside to lock isnt typical ofc). We had already left to go out with all our stuff inside before finding all this out aswell! The top of the desk in our room was sticky and covered in somw gunk, that was also on the back of the remote. everything else was pretty clean :)
The staff were great, and we were able to store our luggage safely before checking in, and for a few hours after checking out aswell. This was a lifesaver for the trip! Staff was very acomidating and great! you had everytting you could need in the room ready, such as a fan and a heater. Lovely space! The sitting spots in the basements hallway are very cozy, and you can enjoy tea and coffee there :) The provided water there was a massive plus, made filling up our bottles easy! Ended up liking the communal shower/bathroom space alot more than i thought, it was very convinient to use. The room was so cozy and wonderful. i truly love the interior of thr basement, the rounded walls are so lovely! the lights in the room were pointed to the ceiling, and this lit up the room in a way more soft way than any downwards lighting could. Also being able to sleep in complete darkness (except the colour on the lock blinking on the inside of the door) was amazing. we slept so well here! The space on the side of the walls for a mini counter space was also very great! all the ventilation is also been made to blend into the wall design very well :)

Luckily another guest came out at 8am and I could leave my bag in store room. Otherwise staff were super nice ! And the stay was totally fine. Not great but fine.

United KingdomVery small room no drawers or cupboards no bedside table or reading light (room 17). Windows open directly onto street so not safe.to be left open. Curtains and blinds old could seriously do with upgrade to proper blackout curtains. Tea coffee making not in room but in corridor outside. Skirting boards radiators very dusty room in need of deep clean items from previous occupant still in room. Double red light from smoke detector above bed flashing constantly every 5 seconds gave me headache. Unable to watch TV as code not working and message flash saying not connected when clearly it was. No evidence of promised chocolate! Failed to find vending machine but there were kitchen facilities but did not use..very noisy plumbing system as other guests have commented. This is more hostel than hotel but compared with other accommodation in Gamala Stan its cheap and the location is everything. Make sure you have door and room codes if arriving after 7pm.
Location in old town excellent. Bed was comfortable and clean, bathroom clean also(en suite). WiFi worked well. Bottles of water available Room on ground floor no stairs to climb

United StatesFor a late check-in (after 7pm), I received no direct reply to get door access codes via Booking.com messaging. I paid in advance at Booking.com, but somehow that didn't get automatically updated in their system. I called the location day of my stay, and was able to secure the codes ok. My advice would be to call in advance for a late check-in just to be sure.
The location was perfect, and when contacted by phone the staff (Johnny) was very helpful and attentive.

Great value for a solo traveller. Very quirky. Make sure you don’t get a dungeon room with no windows, that you get there at the given time or definitely have an email with the codes to get into hotel and then your room.

United KingdomNoise from plumbing could be a little noisy, and there was some noise from outside during the weekend, but otherwise, not a problem!
Staff were very accommodating, bed was comfortable and shower worked well. There was some noice from plumbing, which on occasion woke me up quite early, but otherwise I slept very well. A little noice from outside on Friday/Saturday, but otherwise very quiet! Location was absolutely perfect. Would definitely recommend it if you're going to be out and about viewing the city for your visit, but it may feel a bit cramped if you're going to be staying inside a lot.
