Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The staff were absolutely lovely and I got a free upgrade to my room upon arrival. The breakfast was amazing, definitely one of the best I've had. Really nice sauna and jacuzzi area. Just a really great place

SwitzerlandThe room could have been cleaner. The room was quite dusty and some dirt in the corners. The towels are losing lot of lint and the inside of the bathroom door is covered in white lint. On the bathroom floor was a small brown thing that looked like a dog treat and some hair and dirt in the corners, so I have to assume the room (or at least the bathroom) was not cleaned properly. In Swedish hotels, it seems to be standard that the AC is always running, and in summer running "cold" so there was always a kind of unpleasant coldish airflow. I tried switching off the AC but even when it showed "off", the AC was still running.
Decent hotel in a really great location, right down by the waterfront in (or right next to) an old brewery. The staff is really great, very friendly and helpful. Even when we arrived at 01:00 am, the front desk manager was very friendly and efficiently checked us in. There is parking right outside the hotel, however, it cost SEK 10/hour or, if you choose more than hours, SEK 80 for 24 hours. The lobby appears to be serving snacks and beer all night (?), at least when we checked in some people had a beet there, and there are some games as well. Some rooms have ocean/waterfront view but we just needed a place to crash we booked a "normal" room. Be aware, some of the lower priced rooms apparently don't have windows, ours had 3 small windows, which you can open for fresh air. The beds and bedding is comfortable and the room has a kettle as well as a working small minibar fridge. The room has a iron box as well as a fan. Breakfast buffet is what I would call, "Swedish Standard" (found more or less the same spread at a Scandic hotel last year), with English options (bacon, baked beans, pre-prepared scrambled eggs, boiled eggs),, cold cuts, cheese, fruits, yoghurt/fil, cereals as well as a "self service" waffle making station which is fun to use (and delicious) and of course decent coffee. Not sure if the have a la carte selection as well. I had a few questions for the staff about locations, where to go etc., and also the daytime staff was really great, very efficient, and very friendly.

Czech RepublicThe minibar in my room was empty and nobody came to clean during my 2 nights stay - which was ok, but I would expect more in a hotel of this category.
I really enjoyed staying here. The views and sunsets over the river are breathtaking. They also have a cosy restaurant with delicious food. Great variety of food at breakfast. Loved it, will definitely stay again.

Switzerlandprices could be a little lower given the location and some of the decor could be updated. Not a criticism, but I would suggest putting hot tea in the spa area and installing more hooks for people to leave their towels/bag as a small suggestion
Historic building, amazing view and amazing breakfast. Personal, friendly staff really made the stay for me. I also stayed in Gothia towers and I would say the service was much better at the Quality Hotel Waterfront. Much appreciated!

BelgiumIt's quite expensive, but I guess that is a Scandinavian thing. We were there for the Rammstein concerts and were quite late to book. It's a bit away from the city center, but we biked to the center every day which was nice too.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also the location on the waterfront is nice for a quick walk in the morning. The rooms were nice and tidy. Breakfast was awesome, it had everything. Fresh fruit, homemade ginger shots, pancakes, all sorts of bread. The only thing I didn't really like was the coffee, but that's probably a personal taste issue.
