Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayThe walls were quite thin so I could hear all the traffic on the road outside my window and every time a door was opened or closed on my floor
It was close to the subway, the gentle rocking of the boat on the waves was very soothing, charming place to stay and the employees was so nice and welcoming

AustraliaRoom space was restrictive, but we both are 6' and well over. TV and power outlets were a concern. Getting baggage to and from the room was a problem as we both are around 70 years of age.
The uniqueness of the premises was why we booked. We weren't disappointed. The staff were generally good, with one being exceptional. Food was of good quality, but three days of an identical spread made breakfast repetitive somewhat. The location was good and was even better if you like long walks to the metro or Gamla Stan. We enjoyed our stay at the red boat.

CanadaI did get a tiny bit nauseous because of the soft swaying of the boat but it should be expected… you’re on a boat after all!
Everything was really really great except the room gets hot because the air circulation is not the best. The room was bigger than I expected and I was pleasantly surprised as the showers were super modern and clean.

IrelandThe room was a bit dark and small, but it was ok for a few days. Could not open the window in the room to let in air.
The property was really unique and in a fantastic location, short walk to metro station. Had all basic facilities that you would need for a short stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

North MacedoniaThe beds are not so wide, so it can get a bit uncomfortable during the night. The mattress are pretty good tho. We never figured out how to regulate the heating, at some point it would be cold in the room and later on you would wake up sweating because its so hot.
Second time staying here, we really like the location of the boat. Easy to get to all the sightseeing spots. If you get a room on the water side you get a beautiful view, unfortunately we weren’t so lucky the second time around. The employees were nice and friendly for the check in and check out.

United StatesMy only suggestions for improvement would be to add more counter space in the bathroom and/or a stool to put your clothes. One thing to note is that the surrounding neighborhood has wonderful cafes and shops, but you will need to go up stairs and walk uphill to reach them. It is quite far from the subway line, so this location may not be your best option if you have limited mobility or use any mobility devices.
The entire facility was very clean. We stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom on the white boat and although small everything was well-maintained. The beds were very comfortable and a porthole that opened allowed us to have good air flow. We were on the seaside, so it was very quiet. Breakfast was delicious, it had boiled eggs, meats, breads, and sweets with delicious coffee to start the day. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made sure my room met my specific needs so I could travel with a medical device.

United StatesHere are a few things that didn't work for me. 1- the breakfast. I bought just for 1 night to check it out. They mentioned it would have eggs but it was just hard boiled eggs nothing warm. It was very simple continental. Overpriced and not worth it. 2-it's better to stay colser to the island or downtown. Its not easy to be in and out and come back during the day cause its just not a convinient location 3- you cant bring your own wine to enjoy at the bow. They told us we had to buy it there. I get what they said that it was the law but as a paying guest of th eestablishment. I figured i was free to drink my own wine. I didnt like that 4- cabins have " thin walls' ppl talking and walking by are just disturbing in the night. even if they are supposed to be quiet hours, they just arent
It was cute. Ok for 1 night.
