Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaWe had a very relaxing time there. Josette and Patsi are very kind, easy to talk to, and helpful in everything we needed. We were welcomed at the ferry on la digue with an on the house car ride to the accommodation. It is a quiet area and relaxing. The views of the hill forests and green vegetation and palms around everyday is awesome. It is a very good location, in the heart of the village, secluded enough from the small busling center, but close enough for a 10-15min walk to stores or quicker by bike, especially if you learn the shortcuts. We had bicicles available for rent. The shared kitchen is very spacious and had everything we needed. Had to get used to forest life the first few days, friendly geckos around :) . The island is perfect for relaxation. You can take the bikes to different beaches. Enjoyed the morning walk through the village to buy local fruits. If you want to relax, experience a bit of local life, and jaw dropping beaches reachable not too far by bike, without cars, La Digue is perfect.

LuxembourgNothing, we will come back in two years' time as promised :)
Nice room in an authentic neighbourhood, as shown in the pictures. Spacious and clean bathroom, the kitchen was well equipped (including water, Nescafé and tea). We did not hear barking dogs as per in other reviews, the neighborhood seemed safe and quiet to us. Owners were available and helpful, they helped us in renting affordable bikes and were available on the last day as we left our luggages.

Josette was amazing from start to finish. - Bikes were affordable and she gave us very good service when needed (100 SCR/day) - AC unit came in clutch - Accomodations were perfectly to date and well thought - Washing machine is a huge plus - Fully functioning kitchen - Very nice meal courtesy of Josette at the end of our stay, one of the best we had on the island

AustriaThe bikes we got from the hosts were not the best (they were a bit cheaper though).
We really liked the authentic neighbourhood. The small apartment was as shown in the pictures. The kitchen was well equipped (including instant coffee, tea, etc). The hosts were very nice. We got picked up from the ferry. We got a homemade snack and juice for breakfast every day. There was the possibility to wash our clothes (for a fee). As it is written in some reviews: Yes, sometimes there are barking dogs in the near neighbourhood, BUT this is everywhere on the island. It is normal to hear the surrounding, as also birds, geckos, etc.

BelarusThe bed was not quite comfortable.
We stayed at that guesthouse for three nights. As promised we were met at the local jetty by an agent who held the sign with our names and taken to the accommodation. We recommend to one and all not to decline the offer of a meet-up, as the maps showed a bit other location of the stay, although the distance to the location is not significant one might be confused to find it fast. Upon our arrival we were offered welcoming drinks and the chance of using bikes half-day for free. We didn't take that chance that day as we were rather tired after the trip. The room was on the ground floor. There was a tiny verandah with two chairs and a table. In the room there was aircon, a fridge, an electric kettle, a safebox, a TV. The room is quite small but generally ok. There is a one thing though the bed was quite tough. One day we rented bikes directly from the host 10 EUR per person for the day and off we went. We covered the whole island during that day. Although it was a self catering service the host kindly provided us either with some fruit or local biscuit with Jam. It was very nice. There was a shared kitchen with all necessary utensils. Yet there was a glorious take away catering where we used to buy either some fried rice or fish. At the final day of our stay there we we were let to leave our luggage there before the ferry departure and use bicycles for free for a couple of hours. We took that chance and we were happy to take our time before the ferry departure. The room was cleaned every day and the towels were changed either. Generally everything was as promised and quite satisfactory.

ItalyThe room is quite small (we were 2, but I think that for 3 people would be definitely be too small).
The owners and the housekeeper were very kind. They picked us up at the ferry station, offered breakfast the first day and gave us some good suggestion during our stay.

ThailandWe booked the triple room and it was too small. Ok for a night or two, but not for a long stay. The shared kitchen was not close to the room. It's a fair distance from the beach. Not a big deal if you rent bikes. 100 rupees per day. A very good deal offered by the owners! It's not a quiet place. Barking dogs, chickens and one day, music blasted at level 10 for hours. Ugh.
Great staff, very helpful.

TurkeyEverything was just amazing! The hosts are super kind and caring people. The house, kitchen and everything around is very clean. On the last day of my staying they served a creole dinner which was delicious. They arrange a transfer from and to the ferry and bring a bicycle for me. I felt welcomed and homey there and for sure will stay in the same place next time on La Digue.

GermanyThe internet was a bit on the slow side. The bikes squeak a bit and the tires could have been a bit more pumped up, but that is about it really.
Our favourite stay in the Seychelles. The kitchen is very well equipped and clean, the staff and owner are extremely kind and were always very happy to help. We were greeted every morning with a nice juice and some fruit which was a lovely thing to wake up to. The room was very clean, smelled quite nice, and had everything we needed. Pick up at the jetty was much appreciated. For drop off to the jetty there is an extra cost as expected but really isn't very far to walk if you prefer.
