Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SpainThe room details mentioned a washing machine, mosquito net, and hairdryer among the facilities. Unfortunately, this was not accurate. It was quite disappointing as having a washing machine was one of the reasons we chose this guesthouse. While they do offer a laundry service, it is quite expensive. Additionally, there is a document in the room explaining the access to shower facilities on the last day. They will allow you to use a room if one is available; otherwise, they provide an outdoor shower.
Bernique Guesthouse is a nice and tranquil place to enjoy La Digue. It's just a 15-minute walk from the ferry port. The rooms are spacious, the mattresses comfortable, and the breakfast delicious. The staff is very helpful.

SlovakiaSylvania is a fantastic host! Always willing to advise and help. She arranged bike rental for us straight away, she was flexible with breakfast times when we had other plans in the morning, arranged a snorkelling trip and taxis very quickly. Thanks to her excellent network of contact on the island, we managed to meet friends from years ago. She dealt even with the slightest complications promptly and always with a smile. A special bonus was that when we mentioned tropical fruits that were out of season, she still managed to get them for us to taste. We very much recommend Bernique Guesthouse!
