Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe property given wasn’t the property originally assigned and the one we cosen and paid for. It was on different street and different address, to what the booking documents were showing. The property is tired and in needs of complete refurbishment. There is a bad smell coming fro the pluming system. The shower tray was blocked, we therefore couldn’t use it. The pillows were old and very thin. Only 1 pillow per person is given. Overall very bad experience. Booking.com should not advertise these kind of properties. We paid separately for the parking which was actually a public spot in front of the entrance of the building.

AustriaThe apartment we‘ve stayed in was in a really bad state. The drain in the bathroom had a really bad smell, which caused that the entire apartment smelled after using the tap water. It was definitely not the apartment shown on the pictures. Parking facilities mentioned are not 10€ but 15€ per day instead. Luckly our car was rather a small one, note that if you are arriving by a biggger car you might have issues as it is not a parking spot but rather a entrance of a building.
Top location. The apartment is less than a 10 min walk to the city center.

PolandBad smell from bathroom. Very old small shower, shower leaked as it had broken floor. Had to fix kitchen sink drain the first time I used ot as it leaked over the floor. Toilet did not flush correctly. TV did not work. It also wasn't the apartment I originally booked and changed at the last moment to a much busier road. The apartment was on the 5th floor, most of the time the elevator was out of order. Sofa was very uncomfortable. Overall it requires renovations and is very poor value.

Australiabasically appartments that was advertised on booking is not the appartments that was given to us. explanation that I got is because they have few appointments under one account and due to last minute booking , host didn’t have a chance to explain . the apartment that we were given was in Djura Danicica which is very bizarre to advertise multiple apartments under one ad , as ppl will not know what they getting in the end . the appointment require major renovations as well as price adjustment of 50e per night if improvement is not done soon. would not recommend nor stay again .
host was friendly and accommodating but does not justify charges for location and condition of the apartment.

United KingdomThe location of the apartment was actually very good and central. However, the apartment we stayed at was in a different location to the one stated on our booking.
The host came to meet us and walked us to the location of the apartment. There was a lift to access floors (however, the lift is only accessible by stairs). The apartment was relatively large with a full kitchen and bathroom and a bedroom/living room. The bed was comfortable. There was a dining table as well as a breakfast bar. I believe there was also a sofa bed.

United Arab EmiratesThe blanket and bed, items were not nicely there considering family stay and other locations where stayed in Serbia. But as I said, we stayed for a night so did not ask for re- arrangement, though.
in fact not much as we just stayed a night, or may be we were tiered on first day. The owner is good person and to the point. But the place is on some odd floor where lift reaches above that floor, so you will walk down.

SwitzerlandJust be prepared that for Western European Standards Serbian bathrooms are small. Nothing what the owners could easily influence for this very apartment. I was not bothered by this fact, but may be it is worthwhile for others to consider.
Excellent location and sufficient space for comfortable working at laptop. Good WLAN.
