“Good location, villa itself and apartments look nice”

  • MT Seaside Apartment Review score: 10

“Everything here was so good, the apartment on first floor with sea view, large room , good kitchen and bathroom. Location on beach clean water. In the same house is very good supermarket so you can buy all day what you want. Also from Jetty is 5 min walk. Around is some good restaurants, shops.”

  • Gregoire's Apartment Review score: 9

“Location was great. Good facilities. Horribly rude staff. It is a part of La Digue Lodge and some of the staff treat you really bad. The guy who picked us up from jetty had really bad attitude towards us vs the people who were staying in their luxurious rooms. We had several issues during our stay. Our room was flooded with water, no Wi-Fi, landline was not working so we had to go all the way to resort to get help. But the receptionist Donna was not even slightly bothered about our issues and was not even acknowledging while we were communicating. Very different treatment for people staying in luxurious rooms v apartments. In that case they should keep separate receptions and staff, facilities. Don’t mix everything if you can’t handle it nicely.”

  • Chez Mera Self Catering Review score: 9

“Mera is a very nice and helpful host, very clean rooms, close to centre and beaches. La Digue can be easiest accessed by bike which you can also get from Mera.”

  • “Was close to the ferry just 15 mins walk.”

  • “Fantastic independent villa! Privileged location, comfortable and clean room with kitchenette. The kindness of the owner Mr Marston and Laura to the details was extraordinary, the hospitality provided made my stay really special. Highly recommended!””

  • Hostellerie La Digue Review score: 9

“Location was superb. A short stroll to the bakery and main hub of the island. No need for taxi's from the ferry port unless you have mobility issues. The hosts were great. Very friendly and welcoming with a few nice touches such as flowers in the rooms and on the bed and a welcoming cold fruit juice. Amy was always around and was a joy to deal with. She even arranged for our bikes which is a must on this little island. You can walk but to really get into the vibe of the island a bike is the norm and was great fun, even for a few of our group who hadn't ridden one for a long time. The house was very comfortable it was a good size and was one of three on the site. It had one ensuite bathroom and another bathroom shared by the two other bedrooms. It was well stocked with pans etc and only a slight issue was there were only five mugs for our group of six. We visited several of the fantastic beaches with Anse source d'argent and the beaches just beyond, connected by a footpath, being the highlights. We visited two restaurants, Le Reparie which was mainly Italian and the fish trap which were both on the main street and were very good. We also had a take away from Ava Lunch, which again was very good . We ordered prawn curries and a beef curry with egg fried rice and a pasta dish. All dishes were very tasty and good portion sizes. All in all a great three night stay but could have easily done a few more.”

  • “We recently had the pleasure of staying at Villa Charette, and it truly exceeded all our expectations. This charming little house is perfectly suited for an island getaway, offering comfort, convenience, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The location is unbeatable – just a short stroll from the beach, with the soothing sound of waves nearby, and numerous fantastic food joints within a five-minute walk. The ferry is also conveniently close, making the villa easy to access and a great base for exploring the island. One of the highlights of our stay was the excellent care provided by Nahed, the villa’s caretaker. He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, always available to answer our questions and assist us at any time, whether day or night. His local knowledge was invaluable, offering great recommendations for restaurants, hidden gems, and must-see sights around the island. The villa itself is a dream. It’s beautifully designed to let in ample natural light, with sunshine streaming through the windows throughout the day, making it feel like the quintessential island home. Every morning, we woke up to a bright, airy space that instantly lifted our spirits. Villa Charette even has bicycles available for rent, which is a fantastic touch. The villa was thoroughly cleaned and well-stocked daily, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable and stress-free stay. The location couldn’t be better – it’s centrally situated, making it easy to reach all sides of the island. Lastly, the villa’s owner was incredibly kind and helpful, adding a personal touch to our stay that made us feel truly welcome. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Villa Charette to anyone looking for the perfect island escape.”
