“We loved the location of Viking Nature Resort it is slightly away from the main madness of the town centre, but walkable within 25 mins along footpaths parallel to the beach. We walked the route day and night and felt safe. Breakfast and the main reception area is right on the beach and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast whilst looking at the water. The private cove is a really lovely and relaxing, with small clusters of coral for snorkelling.
It was great seeing monkeys walk across the beach in the evenings and we even had monkeys on our balcony one morning.
Our room was incredibly spacious with sea views and very clean with a TV that had access to Netflix and Youtube which we enjoyed in the evenings. The bed had a mosquito net surrounding which was great for the bugs.
The staff were helpful when enquiring about checkout times, and friendly during meals.”
“Mellow Mango was a beautiful piece of nature and relaxation. The grounds and eating area are beautiful and full of plants and trees with a rustic nature vibe.
The rooms were clean, simply decorated sympathetically to match the natural surroundings.
Food (especially the spicy pineapple salad and chicken satay) and spicy Margaritas were fantastic and definitely worth ordering.
It is close to restaurants, beach and bars so all we needed and if we wanted anything else we hopped on one of the rental scooters.

“Loved the jungle feel of the small hotel with beach room hidden between leaves, it feels quite private. All accommodation surrounds a pool which was so refreshing with great views of the cliffs. Breakfast was 200 baht which included buffet fruit, toast, cereal etc and made to order eggs, fried rice and meets which were delicious and all included in breakfast price. There was a free shuttle to the beach 5 times a day which was convenient.
The sunset at the Ao Nang beach was fab. We walked the Monkey Trail to Pai Plong Beach which we felt was a nicer beach. Also the water is not as clear as other beaches in the south of Thailand.”
