“Shared living room and kitchen facilities and dorm were very comfortable and clean when Andreia was around. Andreia was an excellent hostess – very efficient, communicative and very pleasant. Thankyou. Loved the towels, clothes hooks, nightlights, bunk beds, patio, lighthouse view and the shared room shower. Conveniently located close to the beautiful beach walkway and the airport. Loved staying a week in Terceira – walking and exploring and hiking up the vertical staircase near the marina and to the lighthouse and going to the caves and swimming in the lava natural pools and even the hike up Mount Brazil. Conveniently located close to everything, including large grocery stores and took local buses to #2 to Mount Brazil and #3 to Lava Pool sites. Just spectacular views everywhere. Great location for this great accommodation.”
“LOCATION: Ribeiria Quente is a lovely small fishing village with a beach and close access to Furnas and Povoacao. There is a hiking trail just below the property that follows the shoreline and goes on for a few hours. Easy and friendly shopping in the village for fruits, cheese, bread etc. A few good options for dinner in the village.
ACCOMODATIONS: We had the smallest of the options, a small cottage, very well thought-out layout to optimize space with a patio and beautiful staircase leading to the infinity pool above. There are other larger options. Book early. Great view of the sea and you can hear the ocean.

“Arriving at Loving Strangers was like being welcomed into a family you never knew you had. Before I knew it, Stefan had brought me to join all the other guests at a big table in the garden, enjoying a delicious home-cooked 4-course dinner. Pedro and Stefan really succeeded at their long-held dream of creating a place where strangers can meet and part again as friends.
Dormitories and bathrooms were spotless, bunkbeds well-designed, offering both privacy and comfort. Staff are super-friendly and helpful. There are bikes for rent, one of which I took over to São Jorge for a day by ferry, where it did itself proud on the hilly roads and dirt tracks.
Last bit of advice: don't forget to ask for some of those yummy freshly prepared pancakes for breakfast!”
