Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe layout around reception & bar needs to be changed. There is no where near enough seating. Having 2 TV’s on in the bar is a really bad idea. The bar should be there to relax. On our last night there was a football game on and there was absolutely no where to sit. There needs to be a separate bar for people to watch the sport. It wouldn’t be hard to put seating in the reception area. We met the assistant manager early in our stay. She was really nice and helpful to us. Unfortunately the bar staff were very rude to us. I stood at the bar one night and waited a good 5 minutes to be served because the Bar man was having a conversation about football on the TV. The bar shuts at 11.00!!! It’s an all inclusive hotel. We arrived back from a meal out with friends at 11.02 and the same bar man refused to serve us. This should be a great hotel but I don’t think it is very well organized.
Lovely location. The outside area was great. The staff in the restaurant were great (unfortunately the food was not).

PortugalThe food was really not good, there was lack of choices and the menu was really poor (greasy food, fried food, lack of side dishes, salads and desserts). The room really need an urgent refresh, even if the room is large and have all the required commodities, the furniture looks and feels old (doors, beds, bunk beds, closed). In general the hotel was not clean enough, in the morning, I could see a lot of garbage around the pool and garden, the room was ok, but could be better (below the bed it was full of dust).
The pool area and garden was really good, they were well maintained and they were big enough to accommodate all the guests from the hotel. The main pool layout was great for small age kids and grown ups, the kids pool was small but was enough. The staff was most of the time professional, kind and helpful. The animation was good and people enjoyed (even if no activities on Sunday and Saturday). All in all, you get what you paid (cheap all inclusive).

IrelandThe food was awful. I have gone all inclusive many times and this was by far the worst food. Very small choice and we ended eating out every evening after going to see what was on offer in the restaurant .The choice of drinks was very poor and no bar service available after 11.30 even if you wanted to pay
Staff were very helpful and the pool area was great

United KingdomI didn’t like the bedrooms, they’re very outdated , not even a full length mirror, they use normal keys instead of cards for the doors , really need a big upgrade , but the worst was the buffet service, really poor in variaty they only had water melon , melon and pineapple as fruit , not even close to what you expect when talking about Portuguese culinary, most of the food had no taste at all , that might be the reason why they have no pictures of the buffet on their page.
The Hotel outdoor is beautiful just like in the pictures , the staff are friendly and the swimming pools are great. The garden is huge perfect for a walk in the morning or evening.
