Very disappointing, other than the location I would not recommend this property. No extractor fan in the bathroom!!! Host nice guy but unhelpful for 1st timers to Tavira. Tea towel sized towels no where to hang. Very poor attention to detail.

Location is beyond amazing. The atmosphere of outside road and close to the river fantastic. We had balcony and were watching passi by people.

The freezer took quite awhile to freeze things. It is a communal fridge but good sized and we had no problem fitting our stuff.

The accommodations are nice and more than meet the price. The staff was excellent, friendly and able to provide recommendations to questions we had. It is not staffed with front desk staff beyond check in and check outs but staff is available by phone. We shared a bathroom/shower which we had never done but it worked out fine. Everything was very clean. There is a key to get into the building, a second key to get into the guesthouse, and a 3rd key to get into your room. So that being said, you can be pretty secure that your belongings are safe. The location is absolutely incredible, close by to everything and only about 50 yards away from the ferry. We didn't have a balcony per se but we did have full length doors that opened up to the street and river below.

Both the room and the kitchen area do need a lot of improvement work, it’s really run down and not comfortable. The kitchen is quite old and not looked after so it doesn’t feel pleasant to be in there. Even the doors of the property are falling apart almost, so the whole place needs a very good refurbishment. As it stands, it is not a place where I would feel at ease to come back to.

location looks great as it’s right in the centre of town. However, it does get very noisy at night so not really that convenient.

Had to find another accommodation because I was in so much pain after 3 nights out of 8. Mattress was on a frame without legs on floor. Bed linens and pillows looked old and from thrift store. Shabby appearance. No-one on property for most of my 3 nights there to address my concerns.

Receptionist was great and helpful, he let us check in early. Room was comfy with airco and a very big bed. Washing machine with detergent in the kitchen as well.

Central location, communication good. We loved the room with Matisse type doors to a balcony overlooking street with cafes and the river and palm trees. So quiet but lovely to watch people too.

The only thing I didn’t like was that sometimes the motion detector light wouldn’t activate when you stepped into the door. That was very minor, though.

The building is right in the center of Tavira - close to the main square beside the river. Cafes, restaurants, and shopping outside the front door - literally! Also, we were there in July when the town was having evening concerts in the beautiful square outside. It was fabulous! Great musicians, people everywhere, and folks just enjoying the music, atmosphere, and each other. What a lovely spot!
