Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaMake sure you know where the accommodation is situated , you do get directions after booking . Pay attention as it can be quiet scary to navigate if you are not used to driving around small roads .Once you off load your luggage ,you need to move your car to a parking area , which during peak season might be quiet far, so be prepared to walk .
We were truly delighted with our accommodation that was right in the heart of Evora .The room was small but very well equipped. Beds were supper comfy .The communal kitchen was equipped with a shared fridge , which was great to stock food and drinks , there was a coffee machine , variety of Tea bags and crockery that could be used if you bought your own food . A nice selection of fresh fruit .There is an outdoor seating area which is convenient for smokers.

United StatesWe used GPS to locate your stayinn city. It was a nightmare. We went down a one way street only to find posts at the end of the street obstructing our way. One of the locals on the street helped us back the car all the way down the street, 100 meters! Then Pedro got on his motorcycle to help us find stayinn city. 45minutes later with his help we found you. Thank you for our guardian angel Pedro! We would never have found stayinn city on our own.
The room was fine we did not use the kitchen

United StatesWe booked this place because we needed to do laundry but all 3 of them were broken. Assuming this is not typical, I won’t hold it against them. Everything else was fantastic.
Will 100% return here. Right in the middle of everything, just 30 seconds form the main square. Right across from the grocery store so you can cook in the nice kitchen. The rooms were large and the bathrooms were very clean. Great wifi!

United KingdomThe property was advertised on Booking.com to have free parking. One cannot drive by car to this place, because of pedestrian zones in the old town, where it is situated. We really struggled to find it, despite using an updated GPS system. We also had to pay for safe parking about two street blocks away, which is inconvenient if you have heavy luggage. The situation is lovely, but it was noisy at night, due to the small square (with reastaurant) in front of our bedroom. It was quiet in the hotel, though. The young staff members were friendly, but could not speak much English, which made it difficult to get some of the information we needed. Overall a lovely stay for very low costs!
We were delighted with the clean, tidy room, lounge area and communal kitchen. A variety of coffee and tea choices surprised us. We were not sure what we were allowed to use. A notice to explain what guests may use in the kitchen would help. The location is great; we walked to everything we wanted to visit.

Canadaone of the two over the bed lights was broken but I was able to use the working one since the two single beds in the room were pushed together. they should get this fixed. Ironically the best thing about this room is also the worst. at night it’s pretty noisy because of the loud voices of people walking by. I forgot to pull down the outside shutters in my first night and it was REALLY noisy. the shutters do help to block out sound (and drafts) but the voices still can be heard. the room would also benefit from curtain tie backs. it was hard—impossible, really—to pull the long curtains with very high curtain rods open during the day. finally, don’t do what I did and walk farther than necessary by going to the other hotel, only a few minutes away, which also has “stay” in its title (and a sign directing you to it).
Great central location, which made me feel like I was in the centre of everyday life in Evora. my room had a small Juliet balcony with opening French doors from which I could sit and watch people coming and going in central Evora. the bed was fine as was the bedding. well maintained and clean room and bathroom. Heater excellent which I appreciated since it was cold in Evora in early April. plenty of hot water though it took a while for the hot water to reach the shower. Be patient. I didn’t use the communal kitchen except for doing laundry—greatly appreciated both washer and dryer—but the kitchen looked well stocked for cooking and dining. the lounge areas and outdoor courtyard (which I also didn’t use) were nicely designed. this place is perfect for anyone in need of facilities necessary for a longer self-contained stay in Evora but is also perfectly fine for short stays, too.

Chinawhen I booked, there were only twin beds available.. there should be an option to request a double bed and even if the structure is a twin bed, the linens could be changed to the double bed size. this would make the room more suitable for couples.
terrace was nice, location was perfect - right in the centre. common areas and the room were super clean. the girl at check-in was really nice and friendly.
